ian ashton Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 From my build thread here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=36863&st=0&p=378836&fromsearch=1&#entry378836 Its been "done" for a while, I just never made the thread. Here are some pics: (the Redline decal got messed up in transport to MCACN, need to fix it.) I know that I'm missing radiator hoses, I still need to order the material to make them!
george 53 Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Nice idea, useing the GTX Convert to make a Satelitte. Where'd you get the stock hood? GREAT lookin build, even WITH a wrinkled sidewall! B) B)
ian ashton Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 The hood came from a seller on eBay "lots-stuff-4-sale" I ordered like 5 different mopar hoods from them, they make lots of cool stuff.
Blake Rogers Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 WICKED work buddy i love this blue man great work
W-409 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 This looks amazing...! Paintjob looks very good, shiny and smooth. That interior looks very nice too, and detailing is very nice. Chassis looks like 1:1 too, awesome job with it. That engine is sick. That detailing is just perfect. I would never even think of adding something there. So nice job... It was great to watch that WIP topic "On The Workbench" section, there were lots of great tips and it's great to see this kind of model on the bench, where are lots of details added. Awesome.
RodneyBad Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Great looking 69 Satellite. Paint, interior and Engine looks Great and Bone stock. Great work, I love it.
davyou5 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Wow! that is one Blue car , All around excellent build! B) .
chris731 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Thats is really a nice looking Satellite. Great job!
Foxer Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 The engine compartment looks just busy enough to give the right effect.
crazyjim Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I'm really liking the details of the engine bay. The whole car looks terrific.
dimaxion Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Nice! I really like the engine bay and the steelies and redlines! I think this is a 318 ? I see the coil back 'there' . Just right . Well done project . Thanx ..
charlie8575 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Nice job, Ian. Looks great. Charlie Larkin
Daniel Lynch Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Wow! Great job! Bravo mon ami!!!! Can you remembered from "who" you buy the resin hood on Ebay! Daniel
ChrisPflug Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Tailpipe does look a bit short, especially with all the other detail added
Guest Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 No comments on the missing exhaust? Look closer Harry, it is a single exhaust, there is a crossover pipe up there.
ian ashton Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 I still have to add a turn down at the end of the exhaust also, but being a small block the car would have been factory single exhaust It's definitely missing some small details, I'll add the radiator hoses and exhaust turn down at some point. Also gotta fix that tire
imatt88 Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 IGuy, Killer build! Where did you get the ragtop body from, resin or kit conversion? Cheers, Ian
ian ashton Posted December 19, 2010 Author Posted December 19, 2010 It's just an AMT '69 GTX convert with the GTX emblems sanded off. The hood is resin from eBay seller "lots-stuff-4-sale"
