Thor Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Hi Here is a 1941 Plymouth that i have converted from sedan to pickup. Making it look like an old work truck who have some custom work done. Early stage As it stands now
Borgis Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 That's so cool. Very nicely "weathered" too. The aged effect is really well done. I'm working on a -36 Ford Coupe which is getting a similar body treatment. Thanks for showing yours! /Borgis
W-409 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) That is very cool looking Plymouth so far! I like that idea a lot, it's a bit different than all other '41 Plymouths! I like that weathering too, it looks very good and real. Those steelies are looking very good too on this and that decal (?) on the driver's door. Looks good, can't wait to see more of this build... voljeepx Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I really like the looks of this one! I will keep watching! Good weathering by the way!
vizio93 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 That looks pretty sweet man, what engine are you planning on stuffing in it ?
Raul_Perez Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Excellent concept and weathering!! Thanks for sharing,
BigEdsGarage Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I love it! Nice to see something different and great job utilizing the Plymouth body in this build. Your weathering technique is excellent. I'd love to see a little tutorial on how accomplish the overall effect.
Jantrix Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 GAH! Dontcha just hate it when someone comes up with the same idea as you and then bats it clean outa the park? Wow. I REALLY like this. I guess I'll have to come up with something different.
Draggon Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 My jaw hit the floor when I saw this. It's just over the top cool!!
Thor Posted December 29, 2010 Author Posted December 29, 2010 Hi Thanks for the compliments I`m actually going to use the standard flathead six. Will try to make a dual carb.intake and maybe some sort of header.
Ryan S. Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 This is coming along nicely. Outstanding weathering job. The overall vibe is just right. Keep it up!
Thor Posted December 29, 2010 Author Posted December 29, 2010 Did this today. Made the bed floor out of balsa strips painted and weathered for a worn look. The will come some dirt and grime along the sides and in corners.
Modlbldr Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 That looks really nice. Great weathering too. What kit is the back of the cab from? Later-
vizio93 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 That bed came out beautiful, nice job so far
Thor Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 Thanks again for nice comments The back of the cab is scratch buildt from evergreen bits. The rear fenders is modified ones cut from the sedan body. Pickup bed is from AMT 53 Ford F100.
Grzegorz Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Thanks again for nice comments The back of the cab is scratch buildt from evergreen bits. Thor Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 hi its good to be back online again. here is a litle update. got the interior mostly done. Desided to use another engine than the stock six. so i ended up with a 327 sbc with tunnelram intake. The last picture is the car in final "ride height"
ChrisR Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 This is going to be a very nice model. I did one in 1993 but it is no way as cool as yours. I started with a badly warped body, bed from plastic sheet, bed cover and fenders from the Monogram '40 Ford and Fujumi wheels.
