gunner Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 This is what they should have called it, The design definitely has no middle ground, either you like it or don't. My old car was a 04 Scion Xb so I'm used to "odd" cars. The 1.6 turbo makes it very fun to drive though
Eshaver Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 and then there is this: Can someone explain to me WHY this looks like an AMTRONIC ? Ed Shaver
Draggon Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I kinda like the Juke, in a dysfunctional sort of way. But then, I had a troubled childhood.....
FASTBACK340 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) from certain angles, it looks like it has a buck tooth. but overall, it looks okay for what it is. I hear they are fun to drive. Is that the case? The Nissan Juke gives Pontiac Aztek owners something to laugh at.... Edited January 13, 2011 by FASTBACK340
FASTBACK340 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 The Nissan Juke gives Pontiac Aztek owners something to laugh at.... Sorry to offend you & your car, but that is one, er... "unique" looking car. Yeah... unique.
Harold Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Here's a local car, owner is a pharmacist at Walmart. Which is why he's being investigated for all the missing oxycontin ....
ra7c7er Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Ed - While I cannot explain What it is or what it may have started as, I can tell you this stuff from observation ( I took the Pics ): - currently Registered as a road vehicle until mid-2011. This means that the state of OHIO deems that it's roadworthy. (apparently, the bar is set pretty low) - the main body is fiberglass. the windows are Plexiglass. the 'doors' are semi-gullwing; with Duct tape as both weather stripping and a live hinge. - it is a two seater, with what appears to be a 2.3L ford 4 cylinder mounted dead center (the from cam cover is about even with the seat backs) - the vent on the roof leads to two 4" Schedule 40 Pipe arrays of which i can only assume lead to the rear mounted radiator. - it's not tall at all (about 40" or less) - the rear 'waffle' has incorporated taillights ( & possibly missing a cover of some sort ) - the side vents seem to serve no purpose. - the side "winglets" also seem to have no purpose. - the owner of this also has a mid-seventies Pinto Delivery, with a small round window on each side & the treads of old tires glued on the sides of the car, about mid body. I have my suspicion that this might have been some sort of 70's Ohio State University Trashportation Research vehicle (Typo intended) or someone has had too much time on their hands back when the Drugs were good or cheap, but not both. I thought the same thing when I saw the pics it's either some sort of school project or some sort of movie car. It looks like it might have had bigger wings at some point and they were cut off. That is one of those cars that I would stop and ask about.
gunner Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Sorry to offend you & your car, but that is one, er... "unique" looking car. Yeah... unique. No offense taken, I know the looks are "unique" but I hate having cars that blend in with the crowd. And yes this car is a blast to drive, it has a CVT transmission that you can select 3 modes. The turbo really kicks in after 2000 rpm, it has been tested at 0-60 in 6.8 sec. Not bad for a 21k car.
Alyn Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Don't be too tough on this one... STOP???? WHY????? This USED to be a 2001 Dodge Dakota ( leave it to the French to screw it up this badly! ) it has cousins in the 1:25th world
Harry P. Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 No offense taken, I know the looks are "unique" but I hate having cars that blend in with the crowd. Oh, don't worry... you'll stand out with that thing!
camaroman Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 I'll open with this... Is this a new ride at Disney???
camaroman Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Oh, where to begin? Harry, Let's leave Luke Skywalker and his car outta this discussion...
Modelmartin Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Who can forget this beauty from the "Grease" movie. I for one would love to forget it. This is what happens when an art director who knows nothing about cars designs a custom car. As Alfred E. Neuman says, " Bleeeech!".
AceofBass Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Here's a local car, owner is a pharmacist at Walmart. I can get past the poor paint job (I see cases like this all the time), but how the F do you screw up the letters that bad?! I don't mean this to be offensive to anyone with a disability but is he blind?? The concept of symmetry is not complex! And to do it on a $60,000 Corvette!
David G. Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 I think I see a valve stem on one of the wheels... Do these guys actually put air in these tires? If they do, why bother?
David G. Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Oh, where to begin? Harry, Let's leave Luke Skywalker and his car outta this discussion... A custom Pontiac Corvette?
slantasaurus Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 In the late 70's and early 80's this was considered the future of trucking......... ........or maybe it wasn't........
Lunajammer Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) I see your tacky Lincoln, and raise you one... It's got kind of a Griswald thing goin' on at the front and back. Edited January 15, 2011 by Lunajammer
Joe Handley Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 In the late 70's and early 80's this was considered the future of trucking......... ........or maybe it wasn't........ What is it?
highway Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 I think I have found the reason behind some of the ideas here!! Maybe the builders had to much of this while building! Of course, I think I found Gregg his next car! Anybody have a camera?
RodneyBad Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Of course, I think I found Gregg his next car! I would think that is Greggs Old Ride. Are you sure that isn't Gregg on it?
ROB213 Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) The Nissan Juke gives Pontiac Aztek owners something to laugh at.... funniest thing iv heard all day!! thanks for the laugh Edited January 15, 2011 by ROB213
