I sooo hate moving myself.

Luckily I've been able to find good model moving boxes

from jobsites (new constructions) that can hold 30+ model boxes.

If it helps you out, you can send some of your boxes to me B)

Best of luck to ya, at least it will be a warmer place to be?

If you want to ship that box of wheels here I will gladly umm hold on to it for you.

I have moved three times in the last year and a half chasing work. It's tough.

Whereabouts in Florida you going to be? Unemployment rate is high so best of luck finding a job, but it's supposed to be 70 and sunny today and warmer tomorrow and Monday. No hurricanes are forecasted at the present time and no snow either.

Moving ? Don't even talk about moving until you look at some of the moves a military family makes.Usually at two to three year intervals. Even though I was just a service brat I moved with my family (Dad in USAF )at least five times and then a few times at each station. Arizona,Luke AFB;Germany, Freising AD;California,Edwards AFB;England, RAF Sculthorpe;Arizona,Davis-Monthan AFB, and then we settled down, Ooops I joined the Navy.:)

Tampa Bay, i heard the same thing but ive had friends move there and land jobs the same week theyre there.

Maybe when you settle down in Tampa you'll consider joining the Model Car Builders of Florida. It's 72 and sunny - probably warmer in Tampa. Good luck with your moving.

I feel for you brother. I moved 12 years ago and it took me three days to packup my hobby room. If I remember correctly, I packed up seven large boxes of kits and five smaller ones of paint and tools and one work bench. I boxed up all my built models myself and put them in my car, as I didn't trust the movers to handle them.

Good luck with the move, at least the warmer weather will be a nice part of your new start. You will have to learn about that humidity thing come painting time.

Hope you are as lucky as your friends in finding a job. It is tough all over and wish you the best.

Stay in touch here on the forum.

Moves are a pain...I still have a lot of models and furniture in storage from my last two moves..going to probably be moving again in the next year.

Just like Greg said....I've moved so much since I've been in the Air Force. From Eglin AFB, Fl to Kadena AB Okinawa Japan. From Okinawa to RAF Lakenheath, UK. From Lakenheath to Tyndall AFB, Fl...and that's not counting the moves I've made for technical training. And my latest move...from Tyndall back to Kadena AB, Okinawa Japan. My collection has followed me the whole way. Now that I think of it...my kits have litterally been around the world.

Good luck with the move, I hate moving as well even if its across town or a few states away. I never could decide if packing or un-packing is worse, then again I guess they are about the same.

Not trying to rub it in, but your pictures remind me why I'm all too happy to have a small stash of kits and why I don't have a ton of tools and supplies on hand. It makes everything much easier to move, store, and keep track of.

Good luck on your move, and remember "It's not the heat, it's the humidity". :D

I'd pay for a couple of boxes shipped up north1 LOL! I hear ya buddy. Moved into the

house back in 1994. I'd hate to have to move. Good luck with the move and a job.

Keep us posted.

Man Your Gonna need alot more Boxes :)

I used Public Storage 12x12x16 boxes IIRC for my models for each move (since Public Storage is where I have my storage units). I assigned each box a number, created an Excel spreadsheet for each box to list the inventory. I could get about 10-12 kit boxes or so in each box. I packed away about 100 boxes of kits w/ my '02 move, and 50 w/ my '08 move...probably will only have 10-15 boxes of kits for the next move. But I really need to consolidate everything together in one location rather than in 3 states as it is now..:)
