yellowtruck99 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Does anyone know of any manufacturer that makes a 1/24 or 1/25th scale of a Jeep Cherokee? I found a Grand Cherokee by Tamiya but would like a "regular" Cherokee. Thanks guys
Bastardo Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I have one of the early versions of JGC, but it is a die-cast in 1/24 and the quality of it is really poor... I think it was manufactured by Bburago, but I'd have to check. But I guess you want some good ol' plastic, huh?
jeffs396 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Sorry Jon...no XJ Cherokee made in either scale There was a 1/20 RC one made years ago, extremely HTF today. There are a few 1/10 scale RC bodies made today...
Brizio Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I'm scratch building a Cherokee XJ (84-96) in 1/24. The body is almost done, need some putty, primer and should be ready to go. When I can I will take a pic of it. You also can find XJ in those scale, some are pretty rare. 1/55, 1/64, 1/43, 1/30 1/28, 1/20, 1/12 and 1/10... At least those is what I found/have in my collection. This is in 1/20, it was a 84-96 XJ, but I converted into a 97-01 model and RC. On the hood of my 1/1 XJ.
yellowtruck99 Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 Thanks for the replies. Guess its either the Grand Cherokee or scratch built. I saw the 1/20th scale on ebay, I might be able to swing that one. Once, again thanks guys.
Chuck Most Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 If I recall, much of the Grand's dirty parts were similar to the regular Cherokee, and making the boxy Cherokee body probably wouldn't be too tough- I'd have a rough time converting the Grand dash to a standard Cherokee! Yeah, I think the kit makers missed the boat when they ignored this truck, and the Comanche pickup!
gray07 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 lindberg made a 1/20 scale grand cherokee to, a regular and a police version, i just wished it was a regular cherokee
george 53 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Check out Resin Motor Replicas, he lists both a jeep and a jeep cherokee for the 70's and 80's. Hope this helps, His castings are pretty nice too!
Chuck Most Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 The one he's got looks like the midsize, '84 style. I wish they'd kitted the older FSJ Cherokee too, now that I think of it!
Catfan63 Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I was also looking for an XJ kit... man, they really did miss the boat on that one! Dang!
cherokeered Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I was looking for an XJ kit too....guess this answers my question. Darn!
