Thor Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) Hi This is a project to test my new airbrush, never used an airbrush before so wish me luck going with flames (masks from chris) and untraditional colors, copper, brown and black well, here is where the car is at the moment. Greg Pugh Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 That's a mean-looking '49. Good luck to ya! What kind of airbrush are you using?
LAone Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 wow, that looks sick just the way it is. looking forward to some more of this.
pharr7226 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 This is going to be a nice build. Where did you find wheels?
wreckless666 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 looking good my friend. i wish my dog never got ahold of mine and chewed it up
Skydime Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 With the work that's in the making, and the tentative stance, that thing is going to look evil flamed.
DiscoSpud Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I am assuming those are 1997 Lamborghini Diablo SV wheels from a die cast model? nice touch! This is going to be an awesome build to watch, this sort of custom is right up my alley!
DiscoSpud Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Actually come to think of it i would be keen to build up a model like this one, but to my own design, what manufacturer makes this kit? My local toy store will order in anything I like. Pays to be a loyal customer
Jantrix Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 How did u do the top? I'd like to know about the chop as well. I have a 49 in the planning stages and I'd like to chop the top. Any advice you can give would be appreciated. Looks like you laid the windshield back some.
crazyjim Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Interesting build. I'm looking forward to reading answers to the questions already posted and seeing those flames.
Thor Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 Hi thanks for nice words, but i cant take cred for the design, I used a sketch i found in Rod & custom done by Harry Bradley later buildt by Sam Foose But i`m building it the way i think it may look good. The roof was "dropped" straight down and tilting the windshield and rear glass to match up with the roof, keeping the roof stock The wheels are some Fujimi`s from the 90`s
Jantrix Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Did you have to pie cut the roof to get the a & c pillars to line up again?

Thor Posted March 29, 2011 Author Posted March 29, 2011 hi Started on the chassis, will be a combo of a j-2000 pro street and nova pro street. Will be a sbc with dual superchargers and dual turbos
gautreau Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Build looks really good so far.Where did you get the flame mask sheet from?
Thor Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 Well, there`s paint on the car Flame masks worked great on this car
Custom Hearse Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 AWESOME! I just started getting an airbrush setup together myself, so I need to get some of those masks... They look like they worked great! I like the car as well, nice job!
shatteredsoul76 Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 That thing looks sic with those wheels and the low stance, great job!
