aurfalien Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) Wait, so he charged you before sending out the item(s)? He usually only charges when items ship. Edited January 13, 2015 by aurfalien
Intmd8r Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Wait, so he charged you before sending out the item(s)? He usually only charges when items ship. Unless his policy has changed, that was certainly not my experience.
Force Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) You can pay with Paypal at Strada Sports website and if the things I want are listed on the website i take for granted than they are in stock if not marked otherwise...so I paid for them when I ordered, later I find out most of the things i ordered are out of stock but it's too late then as I have allready paid. I have now learned my lesson and will probably not order from them again. Edited January 13, 2015 by Force
aurfalien Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) Well, one can easily file a complaint with the credit card of choice which I've done in the past with other vendors. And successfully I might add. Believe me when I say merchants do not want to jeopardize there Visa standing. Consumers have much more power then one would think. The thought of getting one over you enrages me. Even if its a dollar, the thought of a fast one is, well, "homy don't play dat". There was an old saying in a Serbian village my gramma grew up in, translated; You spit in my eye... ... I'll piss in yours. Edited January 13, 2015 by aurfalien
Pizzwizz24 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I checked out with PayPal so payment was taken immediately.
aurfalien Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 That's interesting. I paid with credit card (no middle man like Pay Pal) and will be charged upon item ship, not sooner. It could be that you used PayPal which incurs immediate item charge?
Intmd8r Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 PayPal is a billing/payment system. It helps expedite the process, so yes, it can take immediate payment if it is set up to do so by the vendor. I found that HLP carries almost the same products at comparable prices. I've received parts from Japan 2-3 weeks from purchase on in stock items. That's typically faster than products sent to me from Canada or USA. Communication is also night and day. Maybe try there next time.
aurfalien Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Ah, good name drop on HLP,. Will check em out in the future.
southpier Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 http://www.megahobby.com/search.aspx?manufacturer=351 has a bunch of stuff, also. I placed an order 1/10, it shipped on 1/12, and USPS tracking has it scheduled for 1/14 delivery. (mostly SS texture decals)
dimaxion Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 IIRC , you have a window to reclaim your money back on Pay Pal . It is a short time . Contact them by phone for quickest response , I did .. Thanx ..
southpier Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 passing thought or experience? (I'm okay with it either way - I got my decals from someplace else, anyway!)
aurfalien Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Well, so far so good. I've gotten 1 of 2 completed. He said #2 will be done in a month or 2. I've found Ed@Island Collectables http://www.islandcollectibles.net/ to be very very good. Very prompt, consciences and all around very good.
southpier Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 i ordered a bellytanker (Star models???) from Island years ago. after about a month i called and spoke to _____ ? who was going to keep me updated since the model was out of stock. I'm still sitting by the phone...... but at least i was never charged.
Quick GMC Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Strada Sport is a crook Thats going a little far. He may not.be the best businessman, but theres no need to call him a crook. Ive had my fair share of frustration from Kevin, but I eventually received everything I ordered
250 Testa Rossa Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Their website seems to be completely down as of a few days ago.
Zoom Zoom Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Their website seems to be completely down as of a few days ago. Yes, he closed it down recently. Not sure if there was any public announcement.
250 Testa Rossa Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Hopefully I can still be able to get some stuff from Hist. Racing Miniatures including the Cobra Dragonsnake conversion kit to do the black version of El Cid.

Good for the psyche. Hard on the wallet.
keyser Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Upside Bob is you can claim Brad and Norm as dependents
afx Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 (edited) Red Frog Hobbies caries HRM's line including the Dragonsnake. You can also order direct, over the phone from HRM. http://www.redfroghobbies.com/products.php?cat=62&scat=334&category=_Historic_Racing_Miniatures Edited January 17, 2017 by afx
Zoom Zoom Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Upside Bob is you can claim Brad and Norm as dependents LOL ain't that the truth! The last time our ACME group descended on NNL East in numbers (2014) Harold had a banner day in sales between at least 5 of our group. Going to try to finish my 250TDF before this year's show because he told us he hardly ever gets to see any of his kits actually built!
Quick GMC Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 seems like Strada Sports's domain is for sale. Haven't seen anyone post about this and I just went to visit their site out of curiosity
Bill J Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Strada Sports got me for nearly $100 for various aftermarket parts never sent to me. That's the downside of paying up front
mr68gts Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 (edited) Mark at M&S Hobbies can get you pretty much anything you need also. And he is West coast local...(Az to be exact) so shipping is quick. And Randy is now a dealer for hrm so all is good! Edited April 16, 2017 by mr68gts
