VW Dave Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 After teasing everyone with the small picture in my 'carb stacks' post, I wrapped up this looong overdue build...just in time for the NNL east last month. (don't mind the orange peel...that's a Testors enamel job done 20 years ago) And here it is in the MCM photo box at the NNL East. Color me a proud papa: I had this model about 90% done in the late 1980s, and boxed it up after hitting a stumbling block regarding wheels/tires and a couple other niggling little bits; it was painted and the chassis fully assembled. Fast forward to 2011: I disassembled and resprayed the engine block(20 year-old me made it orange!?), fitted a set of big & littles from a Revell 'Rat Rods' kit, and wrapped it up in just a few days' work(stretched out over a month or so). I have a bunch more pics here at the link: T TIME
Tony T Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 (edited) Nice build, Dave! Some things just take a little longer than others is all!! Edited May 16, 2011 by Tony T
kingiguana Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Very cool !!, love it ! but, is it just me, or is the header on the passenger side sitting too far forward, the front tube isnt contacting the engine ?!
slantasaurus Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 That T looks like a perfect time capsule to the early 60's. Is that 20 year old Testors black enamel dry yet ? I know it sometimes takes a while.
VW Dave Posted May 17, 2011 Author Posted May 17, 2011 Thanks for the kudos, guys; I think the enamel has finally finished gassing out Joe - The header lines up fine, the big chrome generator just blocked your view in the 1st photo; in this workbench photo(from the link provided) you can see it better:
rmvw guy Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Nice job Dave, I like it! The carbs turned out great and I love the wheel choice.
Jon Cole Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Awsome T, Dave! It took a while to get to the table, but worth it.
1930fordpickup Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Slow and steady is always best ! Looks Great to me !!
TooOld Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Turned out great , Dave . Good things are worth waiting for ! Congrats .
Bugace Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Love T's, and there is nothing wrong with this one. Thank You for rehabilitating it, and show it to us.
W-Machine Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Nice detailing, and having it photographed for MCM is awesome!
Sixties Sam Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Great classic "T"! Nice wheels and the carb stacks are a nice touch. Sam
