Traded off the 2010 HHR Panel and now drive a 2011 GMC Terrain. Has the 2.4 Ecotech engine similar to my HHR. Nice SUV. Needed a bigger hauler for my DJ gear. I do miss the HHR as the both of them were trouble free.

My Daily Driver, Henry.

Henry is a 1968 American General M35a2 2 1/2 ton truck (Deuce and a half) that I bobbed by cutting off the last 4 feet of the chassis and removed one rear axle and 6 tires.  His bed is from a M-105 Trailer.  Now he is about the same length as a twin-cab F-350.  I did the build in about 4 days in my back yard.

He's been my daily driver for about 7 years (about 20,000 miles) now, mostly because he is a MULTI-FUEL kind of vehicle ... I run him on old motor oil and other discarded (and de-watered, and filtered and thinned) petroleum products, and get between 12 to 15 mpg.  I have put pump diesel fuel in him only on the rarest of occasions.

Henry went into the service about 2 years before I did, but I got rank on him.  I named him Henry after a guy in a tune by the same name by New Riders of the Purple Sage and regard him as my old army mule buddy.  We hum together as we go down the road.  Well ... I hum, Henry hums ... and whistles, and bangs, and thumps and roars, and squeeks and ... well, you get the picture.

I find that Henry is not much different from my beloved MGB's.  He's all metal, heavy, slow and leaks oil from just about everywhere.  Removing his soft top (you did notice that he is a roadster!) is just slightly a bigger pita then removing the MGB's.

Speaking of pictures:  Before ...

Got me this today.

Where's the Icelert?

I had a 2000 TC version of the same car.  LOVED it.  Mine was black with black leather interior.  Can't quite tell if yours is black or dark blue.

That is just cool. I drove his big brother some and can't imagine as a daily driver.

Thank you.

Over the past couple years a lot of 5 tons got surplussed and are very popular among collectors.  They are a bit big for daily use, but a number of guys bob them as well.

Icelert was only fitted to NADA spec cars, alongside those gopping bonnet scoops.

Mine is a home market V8, in Series 1 flavour rare as hens teeth nowadays.
Some idiot resprayed it dark blue, despite its original colour is the most arresting Tobacco Leaf.
It has the original Sandalwood leather interior, but I already obtained most of a leather interior in Toledo Red,

which hopefully will go along quite nicely with the planned respray in Burnt Grey.

I think I just bought this a bit.

Hey, thanks!

Today I already ripped off those daft wheelarch trims. The rear arches are perfect, but the front wings are shot,
both of them. That full local UKIP councillor spec leaper has to go next, as do those terminally retarded DRLs.
There is a lot of other work to do, mainly electrical shenanigans and obviously the ash tray was on fire once.
Apart from the front wings, the car appears to be relatively solid.
The only other rot I found is at the bottom of the quarter panels, a few bubbles on the offside A pillar
and a few more bubbles near the petrol filler flap. But most importantly, Satan's roof is competely rust free!
Engine and box are sound, but I had to top up the power steering today. Let's see how long that lasts...

Just got this last week.  1965 Plymouth Belvedere with a 440 big block, headers, & a 750 cfm Holley double pumper carb on a mid rise aluminum manifold.  Power should be adequate.  It needs a little work, but it should be roadworthy by spring.

New baby. Jag XJ8 with 65K on the clock, bought for about $1500 with a blown engine (minor coolant leak, owner kept on driving until it seized). Bought a low-mile total (airbags deployed on a light hit) with a good engine for less than a grand. Add a little sweat equity. This was a 60 thousand dollar car new, and other than minor cracking of the lacquer on the interior wood, she presents perfectly. Sorry for the blurry photo. It was cold and dark that day and I was shivering

She joins my '86 XJ6, bought from the original owner in 1995, slated for an engine swap and paint first of next year (already swapped in a 700R4 gearbox...HUGE improvement).

Does the 700R4 mate right up with the Jag engine?
What about the speedo drive?

I'm asking because I want to upgrade the gearbox in my Rover P6.
A common way is to use a frankensteined ZF4HP22 from a Range Rover
with a slightly machined off Jag tailshaft inside a Volvo tailshaft housing,
or a Jag/Volvo box with a Range Rover bellhousing and TQ.
But I'd much rather have a 700R4 with an adapter.

I drive a 2004 Lexus IS300 sportcross. 2JZGE (same as the mkIV N/A supra) 87,000 miles on her. I have Tien/tein? coilovers that are going to be replaced with BC racing coilovers soon. Also plan on boosting it with a big single turbo setup.

Retired my '00 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 today, been a mostly reliable daily driver for over 170k and almost 17 years.

IMG_1820-vi.jpg

Replaced with a very clean '14 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4, 25,000 miles, loaded w/ all the goodies.

That pic of the '00 was taken last Saturday..the good side.  The left rear had a good sized dent by the fuel door.   It was still running pretty well, but had a number of old age issues...and with the move to Ohio, I wanted something newer before driving cross country.
