khier Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Jimmy Flintstone makes a '53 Hornet Wagon. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jimmy-Flintstone-NB239-Resin-53-Hudson-Hornet-Wagon-/380380218438?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58906d8446 I have looked everywhere and could find a single indication for such a car. JF is also known for fantasy cars. Is this one of his latest phantoms?
Eshaver Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 This has to be a Phantom . I never remember such a car. Ed Shaver
GOTH KUSTOMS Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Just needs a chop and section. I just got this off the wire, on a facebook group I'm in, it's the new JF chopped Hudson, now I heard you can only get it from his vendors, or distributors, and someone said they think you could get it from Model Impire...
Eshaver Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 No one can say this one ain't H. A. M. B friendly ! Ed Shaver
demoinc392 Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Its so ugly its cool lol, that just might make me end up getting one of the Hudson kits now
Chuck Most Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Uuuuuuuuugh on the wagon, but that chopped body does look pretty cool.
Rob Hall Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Maybe a resin caster will do one of these..this Commodore Brougham roofline is very cool IMO..
khier Posted October 28, 2011 Author Posted October 28, 2011 ..........this Commodore Brougham roofline is very cool IMO.. yessssssss.............
sjordan2 Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I think the wagon would make a killer woody.
Chuck Most Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 For the Brougham, you might be able to rework the roof on an R&R '48 4-door to work.
imatt88 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Skip, THAT is exactly what I was thinking too....... Can you say.."surfer"... Cheers, Ian
Chuck Most Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 I like the woody idea, but something about the way they did the roof just isn't sitting well with me. Not sure if it's the sharp angle of the rear window or the shape of the rear side windows... Still might get one though- I keep picturing it as another phantom... a sedan delivery.

Not sure if it's the sharp angle of the rear window or the shape of the rear side windows... It looks like a '53/'54 Chevy roof was added to make it a wagon, bu the rear roof area doesn't flow with the rest of the car's lines nor have a matching taper. That rear quarter window divider is in a very odd place, too.
Chuck Most Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 That's it! The rear part of the roof just looks sort of tacked on. The stock coupe rear window has just a bit too much 'rake'. Might be worth fixing though- the price is certainly right.

There were a few Hudson woodies in the years prior to WW-II, but they were all done outside the factory, not truly a listed body style from Hudson. Art
