GoatGuy Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 As someone said before, only you can see exactly what it needs, but the color scheme and layout look really good. Lookin' forward to more.
Romell R Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Tyrone never sell yourself short and never settle for less than your best. Start it over and do it right you'll be happier with the end results
eviltwincustoms Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 thanks for all the advise, and opinions fellas... but after looking at it again I decided to strip it down and do it over I know I can do a better job than this... so more on this later.,... Tyrone, may I make a suggestion on your paint and what to lay down first? Start with the white then come and fade in the blue. This way you don't have to do any taping yet. Then come back and lay out your graphics and paint the orange. If you can I would suggest an intercoat clear and then lay out your orange graphic, this will make sure you don't have issues with the paint pulling up.
tyrone Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 Alright.... I firtst of all want to thank all you guys for your opinions and help... .. I got all the old paint off sanded the body and got coat of primer on...I'm going to take my time, and get this done right this time I hope.... ... thanks for looking and comments are welcome...
Romell R Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 There you go Bro dont rush it , take ya time and map it out. This build deserves the best you can give it.
W-409 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 This'll be great when painted. Primer looks good too, and when you have all of those colors painted, it'll be true eye candy, as Dr. Cranky would say. Can't wait to see some paint on it.
stump Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Tyrone, thumbs up for diggin' in and giving it another shot man. NOT that I could see a whole lot wrong with it before, but you need to be happy with the results, within yourself. From your past work, I know you won't be happy till you nail it. As you always do mate. Look forward to seeing what you come up with next.
eviltwincustoms Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Looks like the primer laid down really smooth for you after stripping it all down. Looks like you are past the Hard Part and on to the next step.
tyrone Posted March 19, 2012 Author Posted March 19, 2012 Thanks again guys for all the encouragement,,,I think were gonna be okay this time around...
Mooneyzs Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Tyrone... Looking great man!! I know it's going to be worth all the hard work redoing the paint. Can't wait to see more progress on the paint.
tyrone Posted March 20, 2012 Author Posted March 20, 2012 thanks Joe.. I think the paint turned out alot better.... RG thanks bro... where you been??? waiting to see more of your stuff... Chris thanks man I'm gonna wait until this weekend before I do anything to the paint... I got the chute handle and cables done, made a window net, and added some bracing for the windshield....
Romell R Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Tyrone this is comming along nicely keep up the good work.
vintagedragfan Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 looks like its turning out even better than the first time! take your time bro, lookin great!
Dragracer Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 She's looking good Tyrone!, the paint does look alot better this time around.
tyrone Posted March 20, 2012 Author Posted March 20, 2012 Thanks Richard.... I saw your pics up on facebook last night, it's looking good... get some of those pics up on here. I like that comet body... reminded me of Ronnie Sox's car....
Dragracer Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Thanks Tyrone, I posted pics of the Nova, Comet & my '71 Dodge Demon (that's on hold for right now) on the Pro Mod Modeling Group on Facebook a few minutes ago, I'll put them on my Photobucket then on here sometime today. I think the Comet body is "loosely" based on the Ronnie Sox car, the main body & rear wing do look alot like Ronnies, the front bumper/airdam is different ( I think Ronnies airdam was a little more rounded), I'm thinking of covering the front grille with some sheet plastic To make it a little more "swoopy" like Ronnies & thinking about adding some rear fender tire "bumps" like Ronnies Blue-then-White car. By the way, the Comet is from Bandit Resins.
tyrone Posted March 23, 2012 Author Posted March 23, 2012 alright fellas, I was gonna wait til the weekend to paint, but since there is a chance of rain I went ahead and got it out of the way..... much better outcome this time... I'll add the black stripes tomorrow...
Prostreet Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 (edited) Turned out much better Tyrone, Will look sweet with the outlines and clear. Edited March 23, 2012 by Prostreet
Mooneyzs Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Tyrone... Killer rework man. I agree with Joe here. it looks much better. I can't wait to see it with the black stripes and clear. you have any plans for any decals?

tyrone Posted March 23, 2012 Author Posted March 23, 2012 (edited) Thanks fellas I really appreciate it.... Chirs I'm not gonna put alot of decals on it, just what they have on the car in the pics I have.. I wish I could come of with the El General decals on the rear quartes, Dave was checking on it for me, but I have not heard anything back yet.... Edited March 23, 2012 by tyrone
