I clipped this photo out of Road & Track many years ago as a kid and I suppose for that reason it's always been the iconic Cheetah for me.

Many years later, using the MiniExotics resin kit, MCW paint and VRM decals, I was able to build a reasonable replica.

More details about the build in the "Workbench" section. Thanks for looking.

Hey Steve,

This is just great, brings back memories for me too. I had a slot car set when I was a kid and I had this exact car, was the coolest thing I had ever seen on four wheels. Don't know much about the 1:1 but I know you build is just awesome, you did a great job!! Thanks for posting and thanks for the memories.

I loved these as a kid too Steve!

I saw one in Super Chevy magazine many years ago, saw the tranny hooked directly to the rear axle and thought, how cool is that? B)

Great build!

Too bad the real one did not match its looks with performance. If it went as good as it looks it would have been unbeatable. As Ive read it, it was a horrible monster to drive, and the cockpit heat was intolerable. But it looks just so darn awesome!
