Mold lines on fender are still prevalent:

It looks like they are sanded some, but still there.

and the very nice decal sheet, which is new:

But mine had some contaminants on it - see the brown dot and smaller black dots? Don't know where they came from

Overall, it's very cool kit and well worth the money ($27.98 for me)

I'll bet Moebius would replace those decals for you, if you'd ask nicely.

Probably - they already sent me three replacements for the '53...I just popped the box this afternoon - I'll send them a note!

Those might just be dust particles on the decals- I've had decals with blotches like that, and they've come off once the decal is immersed, then applied to the body and blotted.

Here's the build up I just finished of the test shot for box art photography. I would emphasize that this is still just a test shot and may still get some changes but it's pretty far along. Don't know when the production kit will be available yet, but it's getting closer. Thanks to Dave Van for supplying the prototype decals.

NICE! I know this is a test shot, but I hope by the time it makes production for the NASCAR version, that they get rid of the ottermatic trans. :P

P.S. not to nit pik, but those old aircraft belts would have been a light shade of O.D.Green, the commercial black ones weren't available yet.

Is this kit somekind of Limited edition, as that Tim Flock Hudson. Actually, I can see this one much more interesting, than that NASCAR Hudson, but if it is Limited Edition kit, needs to make an order soon...

Wholy , Fill in the blank, I have to get one of each of the 55's , This car is beautiful, Even in stock car form. It seems like they have the same spot on body details as the old jo-han kits, But better. Why in the world didn't this come out years ago? I see alot of potential for conversions with this one, Imperials, DeSotos , Windsors, New Yorkers, Basically all based on this body with trim changes and other minor details, Excellent build , And they need to get this sucker out like yesterday!

Yes, this is a limited edition kit and if sales of the Tim Flock Hudson was any indication, I wouldn't hesitate in making your order when these become available.

I hope they do something about those big holes in the front bumper before the kit is finalized, but other than that, I am liking what I see. B)

Dave Metzner tells me the bumper holes for the license plates will not appear in the production race car kit.

Cool. Does that mean the factory-stock variant will have them? Not saying it's a deal-breaker for me, just wondering.

Neat-o torpedo !

Looks like it's got the odd-ball PowerFlite ( Chrysler's 2-speed auto ; short lived) behind that 355 HP 354 Hemi ; looks too thin to be the A-488 (cast iton) TorqueFlite ...

Love it. Looks awesome. Making me want a few for in my stash. Can't wait to be able to get my hands on this kit, stock and nascar stock car. After the HUdson bring on more.
