Evil Appetite Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 jeez... http://www.ebay.ca/itm/PRO-BUILT-TROUBLE-MAKER-8283-8300-FUNNY-CAR-DRAGSTER-/230723201116?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b82ca85c
martinfan5 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Some of these sellers think if they put pro in the title of the build it gives them a reason to sell for more.
Nick Winter Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 To Ebay Users, Pro Built means built with a full tube of glue and either paint bombed or unpainted.
Chuck Most Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Well... $30 plus shipping, not too shabby for something 'pro built', I'd say. Could you even find this kit for that much?
SuperStockAndy Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) I like the two tone paint job...NOT Edited January 17, 2012 by SuperStockAndy
sjordan2 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Sometimes, when getting my car back from the shop, I have asked "Is this what passes for Pro Repaired?"
JamesW Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) This seller thinks EVERYTHING is pro built. He had a build listed a couple months ago that was obviously brush painted with minor visible glue marks that he listed as pro built. Edited January 17, 2012 by JamesW
Casey Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Ehem, the seller is the "Kingofmodelcars". I have seen a few sellers which claimed "pro built" and I agreed with them (the CHrysler C-body models come to mind), but I know definitions of "pro built" vary wildly.
martinfan5 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I have bought a few unbuilt kits from this seller, didnt have any problems with him, his shipping was a little high but with two kits it made up for it.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 To each their own madness, my mother would say.
martinfan5 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) He does not state if he built it or not, so my guess would be he buys collections and sells them Edited January 17, 2012 by martinfan5
Austin T Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Man I wonder how many hard hours and dollars went into that paint job?Oh wait, none. So it's not like anything here that we work our buns off and win shows with,is it?

Evil Appetite Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 An error in the New York Registry of Deeds has given me title to the Brooklyn Bridge if anyone is interested. .. sell or trade .. send a PM Was it Pro Built?
Kit Basher Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 An error in the New York Registry of Deeds has given me title to the Brooklyn Bridge if anyone is interested. .. sell or trade .. send a PM I have some ocean front real estate near Phoenix, if you don't need a bridge.
Kaleb Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Pro could mean almost anything beginning with Pro. PROsy built. PROzac built. PROfit built.
Harry P. Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 "Pro Built" is a meaningless phrase, because anyone can say it. Who's to say what "Pro Built" means? What standard does a builder have to meet in order to claim that he's a "pro?" Who can prove that any given model was actually built by a "pro," and who says the builder was a "pro?" If someone pays little snotnosed Billy down the block 5 bucks to build a model, does that make little snotnosed Billy a "pro builder?" It's just a meaningless come-on meant to fool the gullible into spending more than they really should.
Greg Wann Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I'm sure this seller is a legend in his own mind.
martinfan5 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Like Harry said, its a selling term used to try and get more money,
