Guest
My first build of 2012. I had built both MRC's Bell 47D, and Revell's 47G. I combined the skids from the D kit with the rest of the G/H kit to make N975B from the old 50's series, The Whirlybirds. Thanks to Roadhawg(Tommy) for the Whirlybirds decals. Guest
It's 1/35. I combined the MRC and Revell kits.

Guest
Thanks for the kind comments all. My wife gave me a DVD with 8 episodes on it for Christmas last year. I loved that show as well.
cobraman
Nice ! I too remember that show. Yea, I'm an old guy. I would really love to see them shows again.
unclescott58
I love Whirlybirds. Watched it as a kid. And I too in the last year picked up a DVD with several episodes. It still holds up. I wasn't disappointed. And as far as your model goes Lee, very nice job. Scott Edited August 20, 2014 by unclescott58
unclescott58
By the way, I saw your other build of the Whirlybirds from an even earlier posting. Not to put the other build down, but this one looks a lot better. I hope some day when you attend another MCCM meeting, you'll bring along this model so I can see it in real life. bbowser
Most excellent!!! I loved that show! X2, I had forgotten that one! I dreamed of being a chopper pilot as a kid. Plus there was "Sky King" with his twin-engined whatever it was. Exciting stuff!
unclescott58
X2, I had forgotten that one! I dreamed of being a chopper pilot as a kid. Plus there was "Sky King" with his twin-engined whatever it was. Exciting stuff! Several planes represented the Songbird in Sky King. The best known one was a Cessna 310B. Below is Songbird III, a 1960 Cessna 310D. Scott Edited September 2, 2014 by unclescott58
gordon
Whirlybirds was great show. Now I know what color the helcopters were. Cheers Eh!
Snake45
Beautiful build! Just stunning! Speaking of Sky King, I understand there's just been a new kit released of the Cessna 310. I think it's in 1/72 scale.
GLMFAA1
Yeah! Rotors beside brakes in this forum, I always wanted to build Chuck and PT's copter until I saw the color scheme. I hate to see what the 47J was painted for use in B&W film. Love the Bell 47, one of my bucket list items was a ride in a 47, which is fading fast, I also combined the two kits, even have a rough master for the expanded tanks for the 1/35ths Here is my G Mark 1/20 scale and my Esoteric models 1/72nd bell 47 Speaking of SkyKing here are models done by a local aircraft modeler Edited October 20, 2014 by GLMFAA1
