Brizio Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 This started out from the Revell/Monogram 1931 Ford Model A Woody kit... Nice car, nothing to say about it. But my idea was to make a Model A, little more on the "high end" side... Like if Ford a that time decide to compete with prestige cars. I need to admit, that I really enjoyed build it, and I like how it come out. Here the pics... The HAL engine... more power! Some music, from a Motorola radio! The on-off and the etc is on the steering column. Did you remember the tools? I found a nice place for them... And behind the seat there is a fire extinguisher and a little storage, kind of a trunk. :-)
rmvw guy Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Very nice! I get the feeling of a Cord more than a Ford. Would make a nice speedster. I like the tool kit, very nice detailing all around. Thanks for sharing.
charlie8575 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 I absolutely love it! I'm guessing you used the Packard or Auburn for the rear of the body? Also, what colors did you use? Probably one of the nicest executions of a custom I've seen in a very nice time. Charlie Larkin
Brizio Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 Thank you guys! @Charlie, for the top part, I used only the cowl from the kit, all the rest is scratch built. The bottom the fenders are from the kit, I scratch built the fender on the inside and the rear cover. Here a picture toke during the work on the body. And before cut the doors...
Bartster Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 VERY nice custom bodywork. Looks like it came from the mind of Henry.
Hoosierfarmboy Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Very interesting idea and excellent build. I would say thia would have been more from the mind of Edsel Ford, if he was old enough.
peter31a Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Very cool idea and very well executed! I like this build very much. Great colour choices as well.
