Jon Cole Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 (edited) I don't believe it... Nissei made TWO DIFFERENT 1/20 scale injection moulding machine kits: Christian- Here is that machine kit, built. I thought I was trading kit for kit, what I got was a built. All in all, didn't really matter to me. Edited May 6, 2012 by Jon Cole
Customman Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Hey Casey, You chose an excellent topic. Wow flashback time after viewing your your thread man. I'll have to go dig out some old kits now. George
hotrod59f100 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 1951 L' Sabre by Premier models: In my years in the hobby, I have seen ONE of these in this scale . I've seen one other in 1-32nd scale and I forget the manufacturer of that one . This example is the same as the other one this same vendor had several years ago and nearly in the same shape . This time , I was in a position to get this one as I'm a huge fan of anything G M Motorama . Stamped into the top of the bottom half are the words - Premier prod. Brooklin 21 N. Y.At the drivers quarter panel- Facci Bros . I don't have the isnstructions or missing windshield parts . I think I can scratch build these items . I'm curious as to why the 1-25th scale L' Sabres were done in this wierd Brown . The 1-1 car was a Metallic Blue . The 1-32 scale model was molded in a lt. Blue . Ed Shaver I have a few plastic 1/32 cars that are just the body and clips for the wheels that look just like that car and are light blue. May this be what you were referring to? . If I get a chance I'll dig it out . I got them in a old garage I was tearing down. That was full of 50s and 60 era models and train stuff. Like marks elct trains ,auburn rubber animals . And so on.
Joker Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Ed ..that car is gorgeous in sky blue metallic. James aka Joker
mr moto Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Just saw this on Ebay. Apparently it's an old MPC that's just been re-issued.
jbwelda Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 hold on, its a time machine. can you really be sure its a reissue, or maybe the time machine works! but i gotta say the most circular logic i have seen in a while is that model of an injection molding machine. two of them no less. thats gotta be the definition of infinity! ok now, back to building...

As a Ph. D. in physics, I can assure you that time travel is impossible. Otherwise people from the future would queue at the bookies'.
Bugace Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) I've gave away a Grip Honda Civic last year. Or he will pay for the next one I find inside a decent price. There have been some arround the later years, and they rarely reach 100 dollars. The body, and exterior is very nice, but the rest is typical batteryoperated japanese toycars. From own collection. AMT did Heller kits: Quality ain't bad, but a 5 year old could put it together. OK, it's resin. Might be remastered, and rereleased. Just a uncommon box. Very limited. A gift from the guy whom built the master. MPC had more 1/20 VW based. One I'm very glad having. Japanese van Not that obsccure Honda. A favourite. Might use Tamiyas 1/18 as referance for detailing. Edited May 11, 2012 by Bugace
Bugace Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Some more: The Volvo 760 have been issued by several. Even Fiberfab Avenger have been kitted. Hope they still have the toolings. Tonka 1914 Ford A mainliner. Modelhaus Custom '58 Edsel This one is no longer in my collection These are neat, and still mine.
Bugace Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Should I? Yes I will. Some more. A lovely multimedia kit of the first Türkish massproduced car. Another Liteace Maybe the rarest one I have in 1/24 scale. A seldom seen MPC Paddywagon. And what about this long box Chevy stepside? Nice Honda This one is one of those batteling for the title worst kit ever. No, I don't have this one. It's the Revell kit, but under another Logo. I could probably find more at my Fotki page, but this is enough by now.
sak Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Not sure how obscure this is but I have never seen another.
Scuderia Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 wow jeff that looks like it'd be pretty killer. that Cobra II Racer from your stash?

Ed Shaver If that's like the other Premier kits, the windshield is a sheet of clear acetate, die-cut with tabs that fit into the slots on the body. I've got a Premier '55 Chevy convertible and a two-seater Thunderbird, and that's how they are. No windshield frame was included. One of the manufacturers of wood model kits (Berkeley?) did a kit of that show car also. The body would have been a rough-shaped balsa block, with cast metal trim parts and rubber tires with stamped metal hubcaps.

I can't see any big warpage, and that's why I ask.

VW Dave Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 One of my favorite 'non-big-three' cars is the Allard J2X, and I missed buying a built-up on another site by minutes about 3 years ago...the seller, however, knew the manufacturer was Premier; I set about finding one of my very own, so I could build a replica of the 1950 J2 in our local museum. A year or so later, I nabbed a 'MIB' one off that certain auction website. I don't have any pics of it at the moment, because I loaned it out to an excellent resin caster in MD...maybe somebody here knows of the guy.

Ed Shaver I have one of these unbuilt but is missing the windshield and the frame. Franklin mint makes a really nice diecast in 1/24 scale. It comes with the uptop part too. I have pondered the idea of getting one and taking it apart and making molds of it to cast. I took apart a Franklin mint Mercedes W196 R race car to cast. It took me about three hours to take it apart and photogragh it in stages
Casey Posted May 13, 2012 Author Posted May 13, 2012 Not sure how obscure this is but I have never seen another. I'm pretty sure this kit was re-boxed by Testors in the mid to late '80s:

This one is mint and I have been looking for another ...builder ,scrap car, or anything and have never found one , I have only seen 3 in my lifetime. I guess I'll have to get it casted Chuck and NO !!!!!!!!! ITS NOT FOR SALE OR TRADE LOL Edited May 13, 2012 by ratnasty

Mark Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Curious about this one. Was it made in acetat, or styrene? I can't see any big warpage, and that's why I ask. The Premier kits are molded in styrene. I've got an unbuilt '55 Chevy convertible. It's molded in two colors (white and blue). The body is split in such a way as, when assembled, the car is a factory style two-tone color scheme. The side trim is molded as separate pieces, plated, which cover the seams. The plating is as good as anything made today. The colored plastic is opaque and extremely shiny. Years ago, I showed this kit to a couple of friends. When the new-tool Monogram '55 Chevy convertible was issued, one of them built one right away. Remembering the split body in the Premier kit, he cut the Monogram body apart in the trim recess area when painting the two-tone color scheme...he said it saved time, he didn't have to mask the body or wait for one color to dry before applying the second color!
