High octane Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 I hope that the release of the Coupe is soon, as I haven't seen my info source at the last two club meetings. Maybe I'll get word next month?
Casey Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Looks like the box art is done, and someone's a fan of the AMT '37 Chevy's box art.
Jairus Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 The art changed slightly. Some "female" in the Chevrolet camp wouldn't sign off on the deal until I changed the 50's bathing suit into something she felt looked less like "underwear". (Her words not mine) I added a Hawaiian pattern to the suit and it passed after that. The boxes are printed. The directions are printed. Ko, the production manager in Korea held off on injection molding until the winter over there (They have pretty severe winters there) abated somewhat. But... the last email I receive two weeks ago said that Ko would warm up the facility early February and get production moving. I guess this means kits will be on the shelves by April? Depends on the ship they use to container the goods to the market.
High octane Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Last I heard on the release of this kit, is in the second quarter of this year. Hopefully I'll find out more at the meeting tomorrow night.
Guest Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I wonder if they are using the metal transfers on this one?
Atmobil Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Very nice boxart, women washing cars are always a nice thing http://youtu.be/wnY_Jb9bmCg
horsepower Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) Jairus, did you forget about the head person at GM being a woman now? Guess we won't get any of Flintbones "backseat Betty" figures in these kits now. Edited February 6, 2015 by horsepower
tim boyd Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Jarius....great job on that box art. And the built model on the side panel looks really, really sharp. Man, it's been a long wait (sounds like about a year behind the original timeline). Let's hope the factory in Korea gets going this month. Best regards...TIM
landman Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) Regarding post #63... Casey, what is the source of those photos? Those are incredible! Harry I thought YOU had built them for the manufacturer. Edited February 6, 2015 by landman
chopper430 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 thanks jairus cant wait for this kit to come out,btw are there any improvements from the previous versions?
High octane Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 The factory in Korea that's producing this kit is closed during the months of January and February due to the cold weather. I'm assuming that there's no heat in the plant???
Jairus Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) No metal transfers! Ted Lear, the body is all new as is the interior. The kit also includes new drag slicks and wonderful new decals!!!! What else is there that can improve these models? Edited February 7, 2015 by Jairus

misterNNL Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) I this Galaxie release is like all of those in the past we should buy all we think we'll ever build as soon as we see them.I remember thinking I would just get one of each of the other releases and pick up more later.I never saw them again. So See them, like them.buy them quick before they're all gone. Guest Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 No metal transfers! What else is there that can improve these models? Accurate metal transfers. Otherwise the kits are stellar.
Casey Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 What else is there that can improve these models? A correctly shaped grille.
38 Crush Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Hey Jarius! Does it come with the woody option or is it just decals or did they drop it ?
tim boyd Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) Hey Jarius! Does it come with the woody option or is it just decals or did they drop it ? Harold....what I was told (and this info is probably a year old now), the Two Door Fastback Sedan kit was going to be reissued with the woody option. It was to include the wood framing as separate pieces, and decals for the inserts. Let's hope that is what materializes....TIM Edited February 7, 2015 by tim boyd
