Dr. Cranky Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 I think I will get a few of these too.
Swifster Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 1 in White 1 in Black 1 in Red 1 in NASCAR trim 1 in a (phantom) convertible. Maybe another 6 or 7 for that Hemi engine alone...
Swifster Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 (edited) I'm hoping the good resin casters take too it and maybe give us a New Yorker or Windsor. Maybe a 4-dr or a wagon. There is always so much potential with a well done kit. Maybe even a DeSoto? Edited September 25, 2011 by Swifster
MicroNitro Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 1955 Lee Petty NASCAR will be first off the line for me. that's a good one
jjsipes Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Thats for the update Dave. I am looking forward to this kit. I already have the Hudson on the way and would like to get multiple kits of the 300. A Desoto would be great as well. I am tired of seeing the same thing built over and over. Its good to have a few more options out there to build. Thanks again everybody at Moebius. Keep up the great work.
Danno Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I'm anxious to try the Chrysler chassis under my JoHan/Excel '56 DeSoto.
Dr. Cranky Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Can't wait to see all the eye candy you guys are promising.
sjordan2 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 (edited) Coming along great. My family had a '55 New Yorker sedan for several years, and I'll definitely be getting one of these, which I'll probably paint in the same metallic green with white roof color scheme. A couple of questions: • Will the taillights be separate chrome pieces? The chrome parts in the test shots are sort of a creamy white, but the taillights aren't (though the tape on them indicates they're separate ). • It may just be the test shot not showing depth in detail, but to my eyes the grille chrome looks a bit thick overall compared to this... • And will the kit have the Chrysler name molded on the nose? Edited September 29, 2011 by sjordan2
Chuck Most Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 They might look a bit thick because they are all chrome- on the 1:1 the inside part of the grille appears to be painted gray or dark silver.
Dave Metzner Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 (edited) Looking today like we finally have resolved the last body shape issues..Hopefully we'll get back on track quickly... Right now I'm guessing shipment between end of December and end of January - arrival in stores between end of January and end of February... Maybe a little sooner if everything really falls into place - Right now the only thing holding us up is the body everything else is 99% of done Yes the Chrysler name will be engraved on the nose and the Chrysler 300 logos on the rear fenders. Diesel Gypsy Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 This looks like its going to be every biy as good as the Hudson. Wonderful !! Maybe its just me but don't you think the Chrysler looks a bit like the Volvo Amazon. Just a teeny-weeny bit huh? What do you think fellas?
Art Anderson Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 This looks like its going to be every biy as good as the Hudson. Wonderful !! Maybe its just me but don't you think the Chrysler looks a bit like the Volvo Amazon. Just a teeny-weeny bit huh? What do you think fellas? Except that by the time that era Volvo came about, '55 Chryslers were pretty much on the back row of used car lots--so perhaps Volvo lifted the split grille screen from Chrysler's '55-'56 Imperials? (Incidently, that the parts bin Chrysler dug into, for the front clip and grilles for the C300) Art
Diesel Gypsy Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Ahhh, so Volvo may of pinched the idea from Chrysler.........those crafty Swede's
charlie8575 Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 There is a bit of a resemblance in the nose. The Amazon (122/124/125) was introduced in 1957, so I'd imagine the design was being finalized about the time the '55s were being produced. Charlie Larkin
Chuck Most Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 There were a few late '50's early '60's Volvo models that looked like shrunken '47 Ford Tudors with square grilles, so I suppose anything is possible.
thatz4u Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 I don't care about the complaints, I want 2 or 3 of them, I have some ideas...but I'm not telling..
Terry Jessee Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Wow, Dave. Sign me up! That is impressive. Terry
Dr. Cranky Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Wow, lots of great kits just up ahead next year. Can't wait.
Junkman Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Hmmmm... If a resin caster decides to imperialize it, I'll buy two.
Terry Jessee Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 You know, I was just thinking. I've got this. It's an All-American Models '56 300B. I wonder how much work it'd be to adapt the interior parts, chassis, and engine from one of the '55s to this. Hmmmm.... Terry

I find the looks of the '56 much nicer than '55 from behind...don't care for the tacked-on taillight treatment of the '55. Maybe Moeibus will do one if the '55 is successful.
Eshaver Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 That project is a do- able thing. Perhaps maybe it might inspire a resin caster to do Sky Kings wagon along with the Lovely an talented Miss Penny too ! Ed Shaver

Evidently Chrysler gave them a new one each season, '55-'58 (switched to a Buick Invicta in '59). I just saw an episode last week where he was driving a '57. Edited October 29, 2011 by sjordan2
Eshaver Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Skip, look , I only saw the wagon at an an airport briefly once . That was I guess about 1956. Things start to fade after awhile . Ed Shaver
