MichaelJ Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS ONE GUY'S... "JONNY LIGHTNING" KIT WITH A FEW EXTRA'S.....
Haubenschild Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Very clean build! I am really digging that odd colour combination!
Scuderia Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 That's pretty awesome, especially under the hood. Love it
W-409 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Good Job on the Challenger. I like those body colored steelie wheels with Hubcaps. Nice and clean build over all. Only thing what is bit disturbing me, the engine looks too "Red". Maybe little black wash to all seams, like between the intake manifold and cylinder heads, would help? All in all, Nice build.
TooOld Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I definetly enjoyed it ! Very nice , and very clean build . You do nice work .
Haubenschild Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 It looks kinda like the 4 n 1 AMT challenger , but I may be wrong
Harry P. Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 You have heater hoses, but no radiator hoses??? Also, no mirrors. inside or out? It's a nice, clean model but you're missing a few obvious things.
Burnout Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Wow, tough crowd. I like it though. It's a nice piece of work MJ.
Harry P. Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Wow, tough crowd. It's all about learning, evolving, and becoming a better modeler. By pointing out some areas where he could do better, maybe he listens and learns, and his next model comes out even better. Just giving the guy a pat on the back and telling him how fantastic the model is, while ignoring the obvious issues the model has, isn't doing him any favors in the long run. Of course, it's up to him whether to take any advice offered, or ignore it. That's his call.

Agreed, but speaking for myself these things are often the very last things I put on and I'm guilty of posting up 98% done photos myself. Nice work, and I'm pretty darn positive thats the old AMT Yankee Challenger kit. This kit had a separate roof so you could build build a convertible. This and the age of the kit are why that trim is missing Danny. One look at the trunk hinges and you can see its no diecast.

This is the Johnny Lightning version of the Yankee Challenger put out a couple of years ago by AMT....Nope not a diecast.... It's all about learning, evolving, and becoming a better modeler. Harry.. you are correct... only 2 or so years ago michael was building what he would refer as glue bombs.... he has learned alot in a short amount of time and takes constructive critisism well...he asks a bunch of questions from myself and members of the SCMA club and returns with better and better models....Just a side note i will be busting his chops in person about that...LOL Tom Edited June 20, 2012 by Drgon63
Monty Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 My apologies in advance to the OP for the quick hijack, but I have a question for the Mopar experts: Did Mopar actually offer 5-slot steelies like the one on the OP's Challenger? I remember Ford's argent 5-slot steel wheels... and Chevy offering the steel 5-slot rally wheel... but I can't recall Mopar offering a steel 5-slot wheel. Anybody got pics of the 1:1 items?
Platerpants Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 (ford guy here) i believe they did offer them on chryslers cuz monograms roadrunner has those wheels too.
Platerpants Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 im guessing the wheel was used on different kits cuz aall im finding is 4 slot wheels

Anybody got pics of the 1:1 items? Not that I am aware of - BUT there was a 6 slot wheel used on Aspen/Volare Super coupes and the 1978-79 Dodge Magnums
Platerpants Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 gtx6970 yeah thpse were the wheels on the revell roadrunner
