I don't know how many of you would be interested in a 1969 Javelin SST. I have wanted to restore a built up and after much work and with the help of a promo. I decided to cast up a kit. What do you think? It does not have an engine or wheels, glass and a tail light lens. Modelhaus sells the lens with the Javelin emblem or the AMX one will work too.

Count me among the interested! Gonna come down to how much and looking at the pieces, I would suspect that you are looking somewhere in the $50 price range?

I will start saving my lunch money now!

Mike, I kinda think it cost quite a bit more than 50 bucks to cast ALL this stuff, and most casters would charge a bit more than 50 bucks for as COMPLETE a kit as this. I'd still get one if they were a bit higher, caz who knows when you'll find another casting as complete as this one OR a rebuildable survivor that you could build off of. It'sa NICE lookin kit Raoul, and I wish you luck on it. These little cars are hard as hen's teeth to find! Good Luck my freind! let us know when they're ready!!! :D;)

The kit is done and available, so PM Raoul for more details, please.

I think there might be more value you offered the engine with the rest of the kit, but I can see how some people would want to build it curbside.

I would think that you'll be able to sell these on an ongoing basis if the quality is decent and word gets out that you have it available. How many are you going to cast because if the price is affordable, I'd likely be interested in one for sure - maybe two of them. It sure looks decent enough in the photos.

The initial cash outlay is always painful with a project of any kind but if your mold survives a few castings, you should come out money ahead and be able to make a new mold if possible and continue selling. I don;t know squat about casting but I do know that you have a car here that a lot of people like and it is unusual enough. i wish you well with the project and I for one, will be watching your auctions. :D .

 I would be intrested in one I got the 70 AMX from Missing Link Resin a year or so ago and that was a complete kit with the chrome and i think it was around $80. and i thought that was a good price and it was a very high quality kit.

i used to sell them for 60...with chrome including wheels & tail lights

Do you still sell them Kevin or have you discontinued that part of your offering?

Very cool to see a four-place Javelin.

The correct (or as close as we'll see) lightweight AMC V8 being available is a nice thing, too. I have an unbuilt 1967 Ambassador that would benefit nicely from that engine to be completely correct...well, except for the torque-tube drive, but I have no idea how to go about rectifying that without making a real mess of things.

Once I have a few more bucks, you've got another one of these sold.

It is not cheep to cast something like this. I have a little over $200.00 in silicone to make the molds. I also bought a mint 68 Javelin kit that I cast all the chassis parts from. I needed all the chassis parts to build a resin 70 Javelin that I got from Decon a few years ago. Then I bought a 69 Javelin that was built as a funnycar. I was restoring the body when I purchased a mint 69 Promo so I could cast the interior for that. Then I decided why not cast that body while I'm at it. So now I have about $500 wrapped up in the 68 and 69 projects. That does not include the resin 70 Javelin I bought or the damaged 70 Javelin promo I just bought for the interior tub.

As for the engine, The 68 kit has the wrong engine in it, That is why I didn't cast it. That kit has a nice block with no holes in it but it has the distributor behind the intake and the fuel pump was on the pass side. Other parts were wrong too like the intake and the water crossover that attached to the heads. After researching the AMC motors. It was clear that this was the 66 and early engine.

I just finished the molds for the engine, so I listed it seperatly. I used most the parts from the 69 SC Rambler kit and the block halfs from the 68 Javelin kit and the air cleaners from both kits. It's not perfect but it's the best of what Johan offered. BTW the 68 Javelins block matched the 69 SC Ramblers block but didn't have the hole in it.

PM me for details, please.

Thank you Rauol . I did recieve the kit today . It is equal to some Hendrix models I have . There is some work to be done , not unsurmountable . The hood (fake) scoops are perfect . All the details are where they should be . I appreciate this model . It was a long time coming . Glass is no problem for me . I have a vacum (Mattel) former and a Javelin in my stash for a mould . Wheels/Tires and Taillight from Modelhaus . Now my friends I need some help . Someone out there casts an AMC V/8 Engine . It comes Stock parts and blower / modified pieces . He calls it the "AMC Mountain Motor" . i had it on my list of favorites . I lost this list . It might come with two Transmissions . A 4-spd. and Toquefilte . Does anyone know where to find this ? How about a Factory Stock '66 Satellite . Just to change the Subject ?? Thank you again Rauol . Thanx ..

Charlie I may be wrong, but don't some of the latest reissues of MPC's or Monogram's Jeep kits include a pretty accurate AMC V8?

Those engines changed very little over the years so they would be a good starting point. ;)
