SpikeSchumacher Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Just finished this one. Build details are over on the Workbench. Thanks for looking! Mathias
Bartster Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Weird, l've had a couple 1:1s but like them better as 1:25. Very nice build. l'm a little late on the pro-touring band wagon, but l sure like what can be done in this genre. Very cool car! Bart.
bbowser Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Nice paint, I like the red stripe, neatly done. Looks like you converted to a coil spring rear? Those tailpipes wouldn't be legal around here. Over all a very cool car.
Harry P. Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Nice model... but that sway bar on the rear axle connected like it is wouldn't be doing you a whole lot of good!
slusher Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Black and silver classic color combo. perfect paint and detail. Excellent work....Slusher
Johan020 Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Very nice color combo Its like the Chip Foose style
mikelo Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Nice job on the piant! What do you use to mask off your stripes? Overall, it loks really good. Mike
SpikeSchumacher Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 Nice job on the piant! What do you use to mask off your stripes? Overall, it loks really good. Mike I usually use Tamiya masking tape, but for this one I actually used some Fine Line automotive "pinstriping" tape. It was very thin, not sure about the exact measurement. First time I've tried this type of scheme on a car. I usually stick to the safe, single color paint jobs. Pretty happy with how it came out. Mathias Very nice color combo Its like the Chip Foose style Yeah, Chip & our own JDM Fan inspired me to try this. Thanks!
SpikeSchumacher Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 Black and silver classic color combo. perfect paint and detail. Excellent work....Slusher It actually does look more like silver in the pics, doesn't it? It's actually Tamiya Champagne Gold TS-75 out of the can.... I love it! Excellent work. Thank you sir!
SpikeSchumacher Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 Nice model... but that sway bar on the rear axle connected like it is wouldn't be doing you a whole lot of good! Probably true! I got the idea for the rear-end set-up from a Tim Boyd article in the "other" model car magazine. I didn't want to stress about the "correctness" of it, I just wanted to complete something & have fun while doing it. Am I the only one who has more "in-progress" builds, than actual finished models, that languish due to obsessing over details? (the dreaded AMS syndrome! )
SpikeSchumacher Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 Thanks to everyone for their kind words! Mathias
Grumpa Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Beautiful car! Fantastic paint scheme! From the wheels right through to the engine bay! Really nice job!
jcbigpaw Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 By god that's nice! I love the paint and detail. Awesome build
mikemodeler Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Very nice and no, you are not the only one with more WIP than completed models! If I were to finish all of my WIP, then I would have to buy a couple more display cases or shelves for them!
