Foxer Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 I'm going to like following this one. Very nice work so far. The colors on the engine are perfect! I'm curious if you're planning on doing the chrome wind deflectors above the drive side windows. I have a build that needs them and haven't decided how I'll do it yet.
LAone Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 ah this is gonna be sweet. looking forward to some more.
TooOld Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Great start on this one ! Excellent scratch building so far and the engine detailing looks great !

VW Dave Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 It's been said already by everybody, but I really like where this one is headed too. I'm curious if you're planning on doing the chrome wind deflectors above the drive side windows. I have a build that needs them and haven't decided how I'll do it yet. Aluminum foil maybe? Cuts easily with a #11 or small scissors, and offers a nice scale thickness.
kekefe Posted July 30, 2012 Author Posted July 30, 2012 Thanks again for your comments..its really a great boost fOr me
Tony T Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I love Beetles, so I will follow along!! Nice work so far!!
Dr. Cranky Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Wow, the paint hasn't even gone on and you already have the right look to this one. Loving it. Keep it going.
gtx6970 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 What is the bazooka looking thing on the pass window ?
Zarana-X Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 What is the bazooka looking thing on the pass window ? Old timey swamp cooler. They used these before cars had air conditioning. Nice work, BTW. Looking very nice!
kekefe Posted July 30, 2012 Author Posted July 30, 2012 Thanks Tony Thank you Doctor... What is the bazooka looking thing on the pass window ? That is called swamp cooler, which is an old-fashioned air condition..
Mooneyzs Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 This is a totally cool build you got going here. I have this same kit and seeing you start on this one makes me want to start the bug I have wanted to build with this kit. I saw a killer bug at a car show a year or two ago that I took pics of and wanyes to make a model of it. Looking forward to seeing more of this build.
Hippie Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I love the slammed bugs with the roof racks, I'm trying to convince my parents to let me buy one for my first car, Not very successfully, i might add.....
