Sixx Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Well, I just finished this one...fought me tooth n nail all the way!! Test fittings were no problems, even with primer coats, after paint...MAJOR fit problems!!! Don't know why, built a couple in the past with no issues what so ever!! Probably something stoopid that I did...oh well, ended up okay, I guess. You tell me Yes the Edsel script dissappeared under the first coat of primer!
slusher Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Sixx, that looks awsume. You detail so well and your foil is perfect. Outstanding build...always a pleasure to see your work...
gasser59 Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 WOW this turned out great. Nicely detailed. I have one of these on my to-do list and its slowly coming to the top of the list. Good to see the correct engine color under the hood.
phil-east Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 looks fantastic, clean build, great paint and great detailing !
cobraman Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Ended up OK he says ! That car is beautiful. Very nice work.
Foxer Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Sure looks clean and well detailed to me. Very nice looking build!
Sixx Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 Thanks guy's!!! Would you believe that this almost became part of my garage floor?? About half-way through, I was so ticked off at it that I lost my cool!! Even my dogs freaked out!! LOL!!!
W-409 Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Test fittings were no problems, even with primer coats, after paint...MAJOR fit problems!!! Heh, that sounds typical for me. Great job with Edsel, beautiful paint. Very smooth and shiny paint, as always in your builds. Can't see any fit issues from here, you did great job with my Favorite FoMoCo product from the 50's.
H.A.K Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Man that looks great. I have that same car. Need to find a wagon in that model so I can use that kit.
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Really pretty. I envy you guys who can do such attractive stock builds, foiling, etc.
Harry P. Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Whatever problems you had, you sure can't see them in the finished product. Very nice!
Mike Kucaba Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 WOW!! You had problems with this build? Fabulous work!!
rmvw guy Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Not an Edsel fan but, your's turned out terrific! The two tone looks awsome and this may be the first one I've ever liked.....a little. Ironically the first 1/25 scale model I ever built was a '60 Edsel in 1960 just before they closed shop.
Sixx Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 Whatever problems you had, you sure can't see them in the finished product. Very nice! First of all, thank you everyone for the kudos. After paint, clear, wax, etc...nothing fit right. I don't " dip " my models in paint or clear, they are very thin coats. The body would not fit over the interior, or the chassis! The radiator support broke, did not fit in it's place. The stoopid wheels popped off!? The paint chipped trying to get the body on ( left rear wheelwell ) had to touch that up. I dunno, it was a problem child!!! I was mad at it for awhile. I look at it, I see where I had problems...but isn't that how it goes?? You might not see it , but I do! Thanks again guy's, you're too kind!!!
