Why are they making another DOH movie in the first place, are they enough Chargers left for one more?.

This is just stupid, a general lee without a confederate flag on the roof is like well, making another DOH movie

From a quick google search for SATB remake

ASHTON Kutcher is gonna be a bandit? The Two and Half Men star is said to be considering starring in a remake of Burt Reynolds cult classic road movie comedy Smokey and the Bandit. "Ashton is a huge fan of Burt Reynolds and the original Smokey and the Bandit," reveals a source close to Demi Moore‘s ex. “He’s seriously considering bringing the character and the story up to date with him as the Bandit but with Burt involved in some way.”

And DOH remake

The Dukes of Hazzard is one of those things that, while popular in its time, exists today primarily in the form of parody. The 1980s series is a staple among comedic references in movies and on contemporary TV, with focus primarily on the General Lee. Even if you've never seen an episode of the show, you probably know the name of its central automobile, and the sound of its horn. But The Dukes of Hazzard is clearly a special thing to some people — special enough to warrant a big screen adaptation, and, more impressively, special enough to warrant a big screen adaptation reboot.

Jody Hill, creator of Eastbound and Down and writer/director of Observe and Report, is currently working on a Deep South action film which, as THR reports, might manifest as a Dukes of Hazzard movie. Whereas Jay Chandrasekhar's 2004 flick took the form of a wacky, sex-and-booze comedy, Hill's script is, as it stands, more along the lines of a 1960s stylized action Western. Definitely an interesting choice for the Duke family.

Aside from the general mood of Chandrasekhar's film, there are plenty of other aspects of it that Hill might be wise to avoid. In the film, the Dukes carry (and use, to excess) firearms, whereas on the original sitcom, the characters armed up with bow-and-arrows. The latter is definitively more interesting, and more sympathetic. Plus, there's the whole Katniss connotation now, so that's a win. Furthermore, the film's scene wherein Willie Nelson and Johnny Knoxville throw homemade explosives (flaming bottles of moonshine) onto a public rode to make a clean getaway from the cops should also not be replicated.

But even with a sharper script, more faithful elements, or an intriguing new stylistic twist, is another Dukes of Hazzard movie something anyone really longs to see?

I am lost for words

I think this is just another stupid political correctness thing with the flag. I would probably have to watch another DOH movie if they made i but It does seem that all these remakes are more like a parody. As long as they keep the daisey dukes. Lol

Anything with Ashton kritcher is a no go though. Can't stand him. Won't watch him.

I can't believe we're still talking about DOH in 2012.

As Larry the Cable Guy would say...." I don't care who you are, that is funny!" :D :D :D

They will probably use one of those new two door converted West Coast Customs chargers this time anyway. I'd just like to hear what the cast of the show has to say about removing the flag. It's not like the show was about being racist. If it was, I would see not condoning the use of the flag. It was just about country people.

As far as Bandit driving a Solstice.... Well, I think the first of the new Transformers movies said it best when Megatron picked up Jazz and just ripped him in half. Simply put, it is not a musclecar. If they wanna modernize it, get a 2002 Firebird WS6 or do the Firebird conversion on a new Camaro. Either way, I don't see these movies being any good.

On a related note, didn't the Bandit have a rebel flag license plate on the front of his car?

We don't need another Dukes of hazzard movie. Its doomed to fail. If Ashton kritcher plays anything l won't watch it. Worst actor on tv. You can't copy an original..

That's disgusting! After that last POS they did.......I'm throwing up in my mouth over this!

Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott are hilarious in their own right. But, Bo and Luke, they definitely are not! And you know, I wander what John Schneider would do if they tried to repaint his General Lee.

How do you do a parody of a parody? The original series wasn't exactly a serious dramatic work.

What I want to know is... when is the new "Green Acres" movie coming out?

Alec Baldwin as Mr. Douglas, Arianna Huffington as Lisa, Jim Carrey as Eb, and Steve Carell as Mr. Haney...

And instead of that neat Lincoln convertible, Mr. Douglas will drive a Prius, and Haney will have a Zap XL. ( google it )

Arianna Huffington? Good grief, thats a case of bad casting!

Yes, and denying a large chunk of american history too. the gen lee without the flag is like a Road Runner without the Warner Bros bird logo on it's tail.

i'm australian, and we have a lot more 'dark' history, yet to deny the sins of the past is to allow them to happen in the future.
