oldnslow Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I finally got back to this one and finished it up, makes a nice companion for my coupe. tried my hand at an eyeball shifter. the 57 interior worked out OK. added some polished aluminum tube tips to the exhaust. added a little wiring.
Rusty Sierra Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 that's real nice man...what's the engine out of?
crazyjim Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Most excellent, Robert. Looks like the phantom Vicky engine. Would that be a FAST '40 Ford pickup back there? Gotta have it done for the Pumpkin Run.
rmvw guy Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 That is sweet! I love the soft top from every angle, is that a kit part? Love the stance also. Nice model!
tooltas Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 that mod motor looks great in49 to 53 fords and mercs i got one in a amt's merc myself
oldnslow Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 Thanks Guys, Rusty - the motor is out of the Phantom Vicky, stock with fuel, vacuum and throttle lines run. Jim - you didn't see that, LOL. Ron - it's the kit part, shortened to fit the new interior length.
Albie D Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Like the artillery wheels, nice on a shoebox. Cool hot rod stance too.
Dennis Lacy Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Nice looking '50 but I'm really digging the Buick powered '40 Pickup in back ground. Can't wait to see that one done!
RatRodMarc Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Nice build like the paint what color is that That truck looking pretty sweet in the back to
Jantrix Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Nice looking '50 but I'm really digging the Buick powered '40 Pickup in back ground. Can't wait to see that one done! x2. Looks like a Revell '37 Ford chassis and where did you find a 1/24 nailhead?
oldnslow Posted September 9, 2012 Author Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) Thanks again guys, Marcus - the paint is Malibu Girl nail polish I picked up at the flea market, it's called tequila sunrise, got funny looks when I bought about 20 bottles of different colors for 5 bucks. Rob - the buick came from the Orange Hauler, it's a drop in, even the mounts match up. Edited September 25, 2012 by oldnslow
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) Thanks again guys, Rob - the buick came from the Orange Crate, it's a drop in, even the mounts match up. Ummmm, the Orange Crate is Oldsmobile powered, a 1/25 Revell kit. I'm thinking you mean Orange Hauler, which does in fact have a nailhead buick...a 1/24 Monogram kit. Just trying to help. Really like your exterior color choices and the late-model power, by the way. Edited September 10, 2012 by Ace-Garageguy
oldnslow Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 Yep, you're right. Thanks for the catch.
deathskull59 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 cool car are those 37 ford wheels on that 50 ford.
oldnslow Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 Nathan - wheels came from the 37 pickup kit
PARTSMARTY Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 THE CAR IS COOL-VERY COOL-AWESOME MOTOR AND I LIKE THE STACKS OF TIRES IN THE BACKGROUND.
oldnslow Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 (edited) Thanks Marty, Yep, lots of stacks of tires, after 50 years of building and collecting they start to pile up. I've probably got 2 or 3 thousand stashed around the garage in cigar boxes, model boxes, on loops of wire and in drawers and these are just the one's that were easy to get to. . TLes Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Good looking model, very nice color combinations inside and out. Keep the models coming.
