crazyjim Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Got another one done. It's paint in HOK cherry pearl with some Pearl Ex interference red added to a clear coat. I added a side mirror after taking the pics.
JustBill Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Very nice Jim. This is one of my favorite cars. I like the wheel choice and blue wires under the hood. Good job!
bbowser Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Nice looking car. Great job on the interior and under the hood. Kudos!
frozono Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Great job...love the color.....awesome engine detail.......
crazyjim Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 Thanks, guys. The block is painted Ford blue so I thought blue wires would look good with it. Wheels are from the Revell deuce coupe.
crazyjim Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 Hey Luis & Ray. Thank you so much. Should be able to finish another one tomorrow and then I'll be all set for the MAGS show in Tampa.
Draggon Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I've got this dumb kit. Your verision gives me new inspiration. I love that color, and the torq-thrusts make it awesome!
realgone58 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Good lookin' Ford..........love the Torque-Thrust wheels! They seem like they were made for the '66-7 Fairlanes.
crazyjim Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 Thank you, fellas. I've got this thing against steel wheels & dog dish hubcaps, so I very rarely use them. The wheels on this Fairlane just seem to make the car look fast just sitting there.
Monty Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I've got this thing against steel wheels & dog dish hubcaps, so I very rarely use them. The wheels on this Fairlane just seem to make the car look fast just sitting there. Good for you Jim! That steel wheels/poverty caps fetish gets annoying fairly quickly. Personally, I don't think you could've picked a better paint color or better wheels for this build.
Tumbe Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Nice colour. Wheels and tires are really good choice. I like
vintagedragfan Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 that is a very sweet Fairlane Jim, nice job!
fatkidd Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 nice, clean build jim. I really like the "carpet" with the black specks in it...looks very convincing.
slusher Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Beautiful model. excellent interior....nice work..
Bartster Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Very tasty build. l've been trying my best to appreciate Fords more, lately. This Fairlane is making it a lot easier. l agree with your wheel theory. TT's do make anything look fast just sitting there! Great job & great choices! Bart
crazyjim Posted October 12, 2012 Author Posted October 12, 2012 Many thanks, fellas. No more BMF will go on it. I'm going with minimal chrome. Even the chrome rocker pieces were left off.
futurattraction Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Your Fairlane looks great, Jim. My first was a '67 2d hardtop with 289, so 66-67s have always held a special place in my heart. Yours is sweet...
