Pullin Gears Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Painted Testors Champagne gold with clear. Wheels come optional with the kit, I painted the spokes flat gray. This kit comes with the GT500 decals in three colors! I used the black stipes to contrast the gold body color. All the chrome trim is aluminum duct foil. Interior is painted military brown with masking tape seatbelts. Dash was detail-painted. Engine was built box stock. Beauty shot.
ScaleModelAddict Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 (edited) Nice man, nice..... Great shine and smokin interior. Chrome pops too. OOB engine looks tight. How do you find aluminum duct foil performs? It looks great, I mean working with it? Again, beauty! Edited November 7, 2012 by ScaleModelAddict
Pullin Gears Posted November 7, 2012 Author Posted November 7, 2012 Thanks Scott! The duct foil is a lot thicker then bare metal foil, the deeper the window trim line, the easier it is to apply. I find it does not wrinkle as bad as bmf. It also does not tear as easily. However, it is hard to foil small areas such as vent windows with the duct foil. It is not quite as bright as bmf, but I can live with it. The best feature for me, It's cheap! I have one role that will last hundreds of models!
Scuderia Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 That looks smokin' hot very nicely done. Good tip on the duct foil as well!
Geno Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Wow, that is sweet. Great job. I may have to get the kit just for the wheels for a project I'm working on.
Greg Pugh Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 That's NICE! I love the color and the wheels are awesome!

Geno Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Hey Kevin, can I ask which version of the kit had those rims and tires? Thanks, Geno.
