Said to throw away the box,it was really bad,and it be cheaper to ship using those resin body boxes. Excited to how

it will look after getting that goo paint off :)

Got some cool 3d printed showrod tires from 3d Scale Parts:

They're a replica of the old Richard Carroll tires from the 60s - really excited to have a set of these!

A local antique mall had their annual parking lot event yesterday.

Lots of vendors, selling their junk outside, and all are willing to haggle a little.

Like the guy who had a pile of kits!

I grabbed these two for cheap.

The Canepa Kenworth is box open bags sealed, the Impala SS is factory sealed.

Good snag Super Dan!

This arrived from Japan today. I have a problem. But it’s still cheaper than a coke habit...

Great kit. I buy a to  of kits from Japan, reasonable prices and usuallly free shipping.

Ha I tell my wife that same thing all the time,  and or I could be an alcoholic spending time at the pealer bars and have a coke habit.  I think buying too many kits is all just part of the experience. I am lucky my wife doesn't have any hobbies or interests other then working and mountain biking. I keep telling her I am making up for her lack of hobbies and spending.

Could you provide a link for these, please!! Googled the heck out of the name you posted plus 3d printed Richard Carroll tires and couldn't find anything. Have a couple sets but are still on their blister card, would rather use these. 3D Scale parts is listed on Shapeway's site but didn't see those listed.

Ohhhh, you have REAL ones?  Nice!!!!  I'm envious!

These aren't on sale quite yet, I don't think - but Mike (3d Scale Parts) is talking about having them resin cast shortly

Oh I hope so! Thanks for the heads up. I've considered handing a set over to a resin caster but he's not overly interested in casting them and fear they'd sit and eventually be lost.

OMG, that's a gold mine of a haul. That Rubber Duck kit alone can fetch 250-400$.

Anything I have ordered from Japan with free shipping has arrived WAY faster then anything I have ordered from the UK or the US. For us Canadians, Japan Ebay stores are the best place to buy Tamiya, Fujimi, Hasegawa kits, best prices. Hobby Link Japan is another good source for accessories and supplies.

Just ordered this from a hobby shop i found in Osaka while I was over there last year.

Those always make me think of a cartoon car. The roof height in relation to the body always seemed too tall.  Although I am sure with your skills it will look awesome .

I usually find that eBay ships faster and better than Amazon.  With eBay I have gotten kits in as little as a week whereas with Amazon it has taken 8 weeks before.  I also find the Hong Kong sellers on eBay to ship the fastest.

I got a subaru kit from Amazon and the package was damaged.  It was four weeks late and the A pillar was broken.  I contacted the seller to get a replacement and they never responded so I contacted Amazon and they gave me a refund and let me keep the broken kit.  If the seller would have used a better shipping method like all the other sellers I bought from the damage and delay would  not have happened.

1ordered my Aoshima Countach on Aug 2...…...still don't have it!!    -two weeks later, I ordered two more kits from Japan...….got them in 7 days!!…..inquired about my Countach…..its SOMEWHERE in N.Y.!!!!….ordered still another kit from Hong Kong.....got that one in a week!!!   I've learned that anything coming through freaking N.Y., isn't a good thing, but Chicago......no problems.

Thanks for the tip!

I've successfully worked with a warped frame on another Kenworth kit, so fingers crossed when I get around to this one, it's not that bad!

I've found shipping from Japan to be a total hit/miss. I have one seller I'll keep using who charges, but the shipping is fast and trackable. Usually the 'free' shipping is slow...mind numbingly slow. This Mercedes sat in Los Angeles Customs for 5 days! NYC Customs clears in hours.
