Have you compared them?

Nope, ive just been told that moebius used a lot of amt stuff for basic measurements (like the chassis on the Comet is baced off of the amt 66 fairlane).

Got some 66 Fairlane hoods from SMH, 2 look good and fit but the teardrop looks like it may be for a 64?

That teardrop could be for an annual kit, the hoods were a tad bigger on them. They also came with clear teardrop hoods so thats most likely what its molded off of.

Do you have an AMT 66 Galaxie? That might be what the teardrop actually fits, by the curvature of the nose.

That's what I was thinking too from the width.

But why would anyone waste time and materials making a teardrop hood for the '66 Galaxie when every issue had one in it already?

I bought this trailer off E Bay a short time ago. The price was right and it'll look good behind a my 53 Ford PU or 61 Ford Ranchero. An E Bay photo of it.

Well, I did some looking, its definitely just a coppy of the annual 66 fairlane clear hood. The annual hoods were a tad wider than the retooled version so thats were your fitment issue comes from. Heres a photo of an annual clear hood, even has the hood pins.

Ok, I've got this off my chest, maybe I'll be able to continue on with no more downfalls.

Went by WalMart for a completely different reason today, but somehow the '66 Mustang GT, the only one left, jumped into my shopping cart as I walked by. So now, that makes it an even dozen.

Interesting, thanks for solving the mystery. The front edge/face seemed off too, shaped differently than the other 2 hoods. I guess I'll modify it to fit then.
