I know they did it on there coke charger snap kit. The only good thing about those is the were deep dish and I can use them as rear wheels and look right at home in pie crust and wrinkle wall slicks.

Seeing this reminded me of a guy I knew back in those days. He bought two or more of every promo that came out especially the Corvettes and stored them high on a shelf in cases, box and all. He said they would be his retirement plan some day. I often wonder how that worked out for him. Not that I have any room to talk, I bought comic books with the same idea and we all know how that turned out. Edited Monday at 02:05 AM by oldcarfan 1
Earl Marischal Posted Monday at 06:38 AM Posted Monday at 06:38 AM @dave branson Excuse me, is this like Microscale’s Micro Sol? Not seen it before. Thanks steve 1
Andria H Posted Monday at 08:52 AM Posted Monday at 08:52 AM If reserving one from an online dealer counts, I just got a Jo-Han/Seville Pro Street Rambler in a messy looking box that has only been opened to assess its condition reserved to pay $25 cash for. It will be a sleeper style hot rod if not just a regular stock Grandma type of car with a 290 V8, automatic and 2-tone paint. 3

Not that I have any room to talk, I bought comic books with the same idea and we all know how that turned out I like to hunt for deals, especially with with my model hobby. Any hobby can get get expensive, believe me I know, my other one is motorcycles. I've managed to find some killer deals on kits and supplies. It's safe to say half my stash and most of my paint was acquired at well below retail. I recently got over 100 various tamiya, humbrol and model master paints for free. Just time invested in sorting them out. This promo is one I don't see often, and for 2 bucks, not gonna pass it by. Especially since its a subject i like. I'm probably the guy that reaps the rewards from people that think like the person you are talking about when their plan doesn't work out. 2

That one always stuck out to me on how good it looked. Years later I actually learned about johan models and it makes sense now. I was, and still am, blissfully ignorant of a lot of model history. Good luck with that build when you get it. 1

I corrected the issue by making 17" versions of the factory wheels even added the pontiac turbos for fun currently working on the tires 3

Hadn’t had any kit to build for a couple months so this was nice to get. Obviously not going to make the low rider out of it. I was curious to get my hands on the kit, and am excited to build it but I really have no idea what I’m going to do to it. Does this kit have stock ride height suspension? I like this body style Monte, and will look good when you get it done.
PatW Posted Monday at 10:47 PM Posted Monday at 10:47 PM Just ordered from local online (as ebay logged me out after 19 years!) 2

It has lowered and raised heights; assuming that the raised height would be stock appearing if you use a set of regular tires/rims, as the kit comes with tiny lowrider wheels. I then found out you need different wheel backs to accomodate the larger wheels. I just found an extra set in my '62 Catalina kit that looks like they'll work perfectly without any custom work. Always an issue when I try to use different rims/tires on a model instead of the ones it comes with. The plan is a silver car with a black vinyl top; not sure on interior yet, but probably black. 1
Tom99 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I did a little trading yesterday. 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, and a 1964 Falcon's. All dealer promos are in number 1 condition. 5

Wow, those are some real beauties. The acitate warp on the 60 is not really that bad compared to what ive seen.
meechum68 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Awesome stuff folks! I love the Rally car! I have one coming in. I got my replacement Skyline body in, UPS just dropped on the porch. Tamiya had it packed so nicely, that I could of dropped it from a building and it would of been great.
