peekay Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 It always makes me smile to get one of these little boxes from the "Modelhaus". A pair of bucket seats & a set of tail lights for my '67 Bonneville, & 4 more sets of my addiction....Modelhaus wide whites! Steve What would we do without the Modelhaus? As essential as paint and glue for me and I sincerely hope the company will survive. (And I always like to see photos of their products with the part numbers, specially the tyres; given the vastness of their catalogue, it's understandable that it's not illustrated. But sometimes I'm not quite sure what I've ordered until it gets here.
peekay Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 This one arrived today - you can't have too many Lincolns. I LOVE the box-art on this one.
disabled modeler Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 This one arrived today - you can't have too many Lincolns. I LOVE the box-art on this one. Nice!... I have that one with a metal chassis...roof part warped cracked and brittle though.
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Nice!... I have that one with a metal chassis...roof part warped cracked and brittle though. I have an old built up of that one too. I hate the fact that it's molded in black but you take what you can get. Nice one Peter!! Steve

Steve Steve. what's the difference in the tires..I see 2 different pt numbers?
cobraman Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Looks like the ones on the right have more rubber on the interior of it. Looks like the old ones where the hubcap/wheel would poke through the smaller hole.
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Steve. what's the difference in the tires..I see 2 different pt numbers? The 235 tires are 1959 AMT reproductions. They are the "hammer in" type where the wheels were pressed into the tire with no wheel backs. Very handy if you have some old 1959-1961 Amt kits with good re-usable wheels. The 428 ones are the Satco reproductions. Same ones I used on my recent '59 Bonneville. I use them as my kind of "generic", "fall back" tires. Steve
unclescott58 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 This one arrived today - you can't have too many Lincolns. I LOVE the box-art on this one. I wonder where the dies are for this one? Another weird, and some say ugly, car I like. I love to see this one come back. Any thoughts on that Round 2? Scott

I would like to get a set narrow whitewall tires for my AMT '69 Corvair. I looked at Modelhaus' on line catalogue and can not figure which tires I need to order to fit that car. Any advice out where guys? Scott

landman Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 A Mack truck, a pair of T-Birds and a wicked Audi. I get to drive an Audi like that on my iPad (Real racing 3) and it handles like you wouldn't believe. A model of it is all I"ll likely ever own.

Steve I'm working on a '66 Skylark from the same Craftsman series, which seems to have been molded in that same shade of green. It grew on me so much that I just polished the plastic up--not gonna paint it.

The color I have is a '58 Plymouth color called "Ivy Green". it seems to be a little darker than this in the jar, but it's metallic & I think it may look pretty nice. Steve

Rob Hall Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Any thoughts out there on my posting #13327, requesting help? Scott Maybe the T260 tires...the later Corvairs still had 13 inch wheels? These are the ones I'd consider. Modelhaus description: T-260 (1962 on) four 13 inch AMT 62 and newer narrow white wall kit tire with wheel backmolded in, hard black resin
mike 51 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) Any thoughts out there on my posting #13327, requesting help? Scott Scott...try Modelhaus # T-265 or T-260 13 inch narrow whitewalls . Edited April 15, 2015 by mike 51

I looked at Modelhaus' on line catalogue and can not figure which tires I need to order to fit that car. Any advice out where guys? Scott Scott, did the Corvairs use 13 inch wheels? Is it an AMT kit? The Modelhaus tire page can be a little daunting, but if your using stock wheels, just read the descriptions. They mostly just reproduce old kit tires with new separate whitewalls. Whatever tire's description applies is the one I would use. If it was a 13 inch wheel & an AMT kit, I would say the 260 tire is probably the one. If it was a large wheel, it looks to me like the 197 is probably your best bet. The tires pictured are the 194 tire. AMT 1962-'64 for large cars & pickups. Steve
unclescott58 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Yea, Corvair still ran on 13s in '69. I too thought about Modelhaus' T-260. But, question them since they are listed being made of hard resin with the wheel back molded in. I notice they also list a soft resin tire used on the AMT '62 and '63 compact promos. Until the pictures above, and I'm a little unclear what tires your showing us above Steve, I've never actually seen either of these sets of tires. So I'm little unsure which set would work better? Scott
unclescott58 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) Oh, never mind on the question of what tire your showing us Steve. I see you did say which one it was after all. Scott Edited April 15, 2015 by unclescott58
Rob Hall Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 The thing about the promo tires is kit wheels usually don't fit them well... I may get a set of the T260s myself, whitewalls would look good on the 4dr Corvair I want to build w/ the Modelhaus 4dr ht body.
Toner283 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Best answer as to what will fit is to call and talk to Don. The man is an encyclopedia of what parts came in what kit and what will fit into/onto/around/under whatever else. And is a heck of a nice guy too. Carol is no slouch with the part ID and fit either. Have a list of the questions you have ready so you don't forget anything and with wheels or tires, having measurements ready will help get you the answer to what you need or what will fit.
wayne swayze Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I'm not too much into big rigs, but I saw this at my LHS , and I've always liked the look of these cabs, so I went out on a limb and bought it. My question is...what year(s) would this be? No info on box.
