Joe Handley Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Wow, that wagon is down right frightening to look at, I hope it's a trailer queen Somehow I get the feeling it needs to be on the Scary Steering website
Jantrix Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 I'm with Joe on this one. Does someone with some mechanical know-how want to explain the coil springs at the end of the traction bar? That doesn't seem to make sense to me.
W-Machine Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I couldn't resist any longer. This is an AQC Jetway 707 airport limousine. Allegedly, something like 50 of these were built before the firm went bankrupt. I think it's a cool custom Toronado.
W-Machine Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I think I'm glad they went bankrupt. It's ugly. Awww...Come on now. That's just mean. Six wheels, eight doors, an Oldsmobile Toronado drivetrain, raised roof, and just look at all those windows! What Powerball winner or rock star WOULDN'T want to be squired about in such a contrivance?
Joe Handley Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 EGADS, that thing is so bad looking I couldn't even type right
Joe Handley Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Cool, I wondered what that thing had under it for a chassis.
Modelmartin Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I'm with Joe on this one. Does someone with some mechanical know-how want to explain the coil springs at the end of the traction bar? That doesn't seem to make sense to me. Being a typical Mopar I am sure he had leaf springs holding up the car and those big ladder bars act more like slapper bars and the spring just damps the slapping!
Jantrix Posted May 25, 2013 Author Posted May 25, 2013 Well yeah, one would want to damp the slapping after all.
Joe Handley Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Looks like there are leaves there and slapper bars would make sense, but those still look sketchy!
Shardik Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Sometimes you just gotta' ask: "Why?" And other times you figure you'd really rather not know...
Joe Handley Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Yeah, I just think not knowing there would be best.
JM485 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 This is an awesome thread, lots of crazy creations on here!
Jantrix Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) This what happens when a car guy with schizophrenia goes off his meds. Edited May 31, 2013 by Jantrix
Drake69 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 And somewhere in the world, a Japanese engineer is kneeling in front of a little altar and preparing to commit seppuku.
gray07 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 My friends car, it has 35s on it now but he runs 44s on it during summer
wrecker388 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I remember seeing that guy with his Nissan minivan based Lamborghini somewhere online a few years back. I thought it was awesome then and it still is now.
