Chuck Most Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Well, I hope nobody minds, but my little tractor conversion isn't going to be so little. It'll be a little bit jumbo-sized, actually, because I'm starting out with a '26 Mack AC.
otherunicorn Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Well, I hope nobody minds, but my little tractor conversion isn't going to be so little. It'll be a little bit jumbo-sized, actually, because I'm starting out with a '26 Mack AC. Mine (above) is also a Mack, but it has been somewhat shrunk.
Chuck Most Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I noticed. Mine might keep a few more of the stock Mack parts, but even stripped down of the uneeded truck stuff it's still pretty big!
otherunicorn Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Unusually for me I watched some TV last night. TV is always good for my model building.
Chuck Most Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Here you go, Doodlers. Gee, thanks. Now I gotta build something resembling that, too.
Pat Minarick Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 (edited) Got most of mine figured out ,need to get it in primer and paint ! I'm sure I'll find some more extras to add ! Edited March 24, 2013 by Road Runner 79
Hollywood Jim Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Got most of mine figured out ,need to get it in primer and paint ! I'm sure I'll find some more extras to add ! This is gerat !! I love this one !! . . . .
Lunajammer Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 That's excellent Pat, I like that a lot.
Pat Minarick Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 (edited) Thanks ,Jim ,Mike and Wayne ! Been pretty fun so far and I know will not have to wet sand and polish this one out Edited December 15, 2012 by Road Runner 79
Dr. Cranky Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 Hollywood, I know you are thinking about building something. I know it, I can feel it . . .
Jantrix Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Hollywood, I know you are thinking about building something. I know it, I can feel it . . . This really is right up his alley.
Hollywood Jim Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 You guys are right. This would be fun. As soon as my good friend rlwheels finishes one, then I'll build one.
otherunicorn Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Added some roughly applied paint - "probably from a left-over can of house paint or something".
Chuck Most Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I hope that leftover house paint wasn't latex- it wouldn't last five minutes on a vehicle.
otherunicorn Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I don't think latex paint was invented by then. It would be good old enamel.
carsntrucks4you Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 (edited) I join this build. I will start with Tweedy Pie or The Beverly Hillbillies Truck as a base. Edited December 19, 2012 by carsntrucks4you
Pat Minarick Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I got everything in primer today ! Going to start painting later all with a brush, I think the only spray will be some dullcote.
otherunicorn Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Well I am in finally. I was going through an old box and found some of my old pressed steal toys parts and found some wheels.. I am going to try to use this pair. there old solid rubber ( the one has a very egged out hub though but I think I can fix it ) and when I am feeling a little better I will try to get to the kid's old toy box and see what I can get there. I still undecided on the engine.. because the oldest engine I have is flat head V8.. heh I may do the mad scientist and coble up a something. I will probly scratch build the frame and what not. I only had a flat head V8 too. So that is what I used.
Pat Minarick Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) Got the base colors down, now for all the details ! Edited March 24, 2013 by Road Runner 79
