caapa Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 (edited) „Handsome on the boulvard, speedy on the open road „ read the brochure for the TR 2 in the USA in 1954. The car was a success in Europe soon but the success was realy big in USA. The production was hardly able to satisfy the claims. The model was built from a Gunze Sangyo kit nearly OOB. There was altered the screenwiper to lay on „glas”, the dashboard covered with oak micro-veneer, some switches are added and doors are opened. I changed the construction of door hinges – so is the door move more similar to the real one. Edited May 31, 2013 by caapa
TooOld Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Very nicely done . I've never seen this kit before , what scale is it ? I think it looks great !
IMSANUT Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Very nice indeed! This and it's TR3 stablemate from Gunze are on my short list for certain!
Sixties Sam Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Really nice model! Great detail, and finish! Good work! Sam
bbowser Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Very nice! My uncle had a white TR3 that looked just like this, what's the difference between the TR2-3?
GeeBee Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Cracking build, I really like the GS kits, although to date I've only built the one, a A-H Frogeye Sprite, I have the TR3 in my stash ...
GeeBee Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 what's the difference between the TR2-3? The TR3 had a front grille fitted and a slightly more powerful engine than the TR2
Foxer Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Very nice build of this! I have one being relieved of pieces going to my TR4A ..
Guest Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Very nice. Is this a curbside? If not, please include some engine and chassis pics.
slusher Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Nice build, it really looks good. Nicely done..
Dave B Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 That's a great build, especially the opening doors. Dave B
caapa Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 The model is in 1:24 scale and it`s a curbside one. I highlighted the bottom of car by some painting only. (sorry, it seemed I can`t attach any photo here)The really "frog eyed" car was the Austin-Healy Sprite.
robertw Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Nice build. I love the GS kits and have built several and they often do cars that no one else does. I wish they're reissue all of these small sports car kits. I did the GS TR3 a few years ago after giving up on building the Minicraft version. My most recent Gunze build was to convert their Citroen 2CV into a 2CV panel van.
