bogger44 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Built this one back in 2011. Revell kit, painted in Model Master Wimbledon White with a Tamiya Mica Blue interior. I went with Keith Marks decals, as the ones supplied in the kit (the black c-stripes, anyways) were missing the smaller outer accent stripe on the door. Strange, as the remainder of the stripe didn't have this issue. I did the usual plumbing underhood, and added a custom air cleaner. Modded the front bumper attachment points slightly for a more accurate, and better, fit. I initially had my doubts about this kit, but in the end, it was an enjoyable build and glad to have it added to my collection. Thanks fer lookin'. A pic that shows the shine a little better...
TooOld Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Beautiful Mustang ! They always look great in Wimbledon White and yours is no exception . Like the stripes and the engine detailing is perfect .
mangodart Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Very nice Mustang !!! Have you start with the "Bullit" kit or the Stock model ??
bogger44 Posted December 17, 2012 Author Posted December 17, 2012 Glad you like it guys, thanks for the comments. Beautiful Mustang ! They always look great in Wimbledon White and yours is no exception . Like the stripes and the engine detailing is perfect . Wimbledon White is probably my favorite color on the '68 'Stangs, though Acapulco Blue gives it a serious run for it's money. Very nice Mustang !!! Have you start with the "Bullit" kit or the Stock model ?? I used the 2n1 stock/drag edition. It did come with, as far as I could tell, all of the parts for the Bullit kit as well.
Roadracer Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Very masterful work on Mustang! I love it! Now I want to try one!
scalemodelworld Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Looks great. Hope my '70 turns out that good!
realgone58 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Very nice. The blue interior sets it off beautifully.
Harry P. Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Beautiful Mustang! But of course, I'm biased...
Chuck Most Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I bought this kit just for parts... but after seeing yours and how nicely it turned out I'm thinking I might actually try building it.
James2 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Very well done. The chrome fender trim with the paint behind it is a great touch.
jaydar Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Very nice. I love the color combo. How did you handle the metal axel? Joe.
Sixties Sam Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Super job on this Mustang! Great finish and engine detail! I like the 67-68 body style. Sam
slusher Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Excellent build Tony, great interior color and detail...
Dyno Davo Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I'm liking this model, neat build, well done
bogger44 Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 (edited) Thanks for the continued good words everyone. I need to get my hands on a couple more of these someday, as I've got the decals to do both Hubert Platt's and Dyno Don's super stocks. Very nice. I love the color combo. How did you handle the metal axel? Joe. Joe, if you're referring to the front axle, I didn't change up anything with it. I just painted it black to help blend it in with the rest of the suspension. It actually looks ok. Edited December 18, 2012 by bogger44
