Custom Mike Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) Well, here she is! I still have to paint the windshield wipers (I can't believe I forgot them!), and someday when the sun cooperates, I'll get more outside pics to gawk at, Thanks for following along, and enjoy the pics! More pics can be found on my Fotki page, just click on the link!http://public.fotki.com/customike/everything_else/1950-chevy-pickup/ Edited January 12, 2013 by Custom Mike
Custom Mike Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 Thanks guys, I wish I had the time and desire to have done everything I wanted, but life just gets in the way sometimes. It came out looking great, and what I had planned can be done on the next one of these I do, whenever that is! It's a great kit, so I plan on building another one someday!
Chuck Most Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Nice! Wasn't this one kind of my 'fault'?
Bartster Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 OH THAT'S SWEET ! lf l HAD to change anything, l would add the front bumper, but that's just personal choice & certainly doesn't detract from the beauty or workmanship of this gem ! Kudos, Mike ! Bart
Custom Mike Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 Nice! Wasn't this one kind of my 'fault'? Yeah, since it started out in the Straight Six community build! Everyone blame Chuck!
rmvw guy Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 It turned out beautiful! The first two pictures look like a real full size truck. I watched along with most of your build and the end result is awesome. The real wood in the bed got me hooked, then the chains, and the screw on gas cap. What a detail artist you are! We need an engine picture here. Congratulations on a beautiful model. Happy New Year, can't wait to see your next project.
Sam I Am Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 But the tail lights look like dresser drawers with knobs .

Custom Mike Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) But the tail lights look like dresser drawers with knobs . Sam, I still have a certain Duster here, and it just asked for those same tail lights..... Ron, ask and you shall receive! And a shot of the underside just for fun! Edited July 6, 2014 by Custom Mike

Shardik Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Awesome truck! Worth the effort and the wait.
Albie D Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Great rig. Nice smooth paint and detailing.
Custom Mike Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 Thanks guys, I'll have some more pics in a few days, I painted the windshield wipers, and removed the side mirrors and repainted them body color, so once they're all dry, I'll snap some fresh pics!
Sam I Am Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Yea, but did you fix the tail lights while you were at it?
Custom Mike Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 Sam, I get the feeling you're following me...GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!!
charlie8575 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Even with the couple of un-anticipated problems, Mike, that's a beautiful model you have nothing to be ashamed of about. Very well-done. Charlie Larkin
JasonFL Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Great looking build mike. Love the color and tail lights. I'm glad you didn't put the gold rims on there. Nice build.
