Chuck Most Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 First one done for '13! This one has a Mustang II front suspension (nabbed from a Monogram '37 Ford), wheels and carbs from the Revell Tweedy Pie, and a scratchbuilt finned cylinder head. Started out as the Teague stock car kit.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Oh wow, that's another beauty, Chuck. Don't tell me you are going to go towards SHINY now! LOL!
Harry P. Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 That's really cool... but I can't help but think it would have looked even better with a white roof (to complement the wide whites)... Looks like you highlighted the grooves in the foiled areas somehow? Nice touch, it gives a more realistic depth to those areas.
bbowser Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Nice! Where'd you get the hood ornament? Love the WW, 5 spokes, and 6 shooter.
crazyjim Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Don't listen to Dr. Cranky, Chuck. He knows that SHINY :) RULES!
Ron35369 Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Great looking Hudson. Makes me want to start on the one in my stash.
realgone58 Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 That looks just perfect! Love the stance, wheels/tires, and the mill. Period perfect.
Guest Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 That looks cool Chuck and I don't even like a Hudson Hornet!
Villain Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) Nice job looks sharp! Edited January 9, 2013 by Villain5150
Custom Mike Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Beautiful Hornet Chuck, and I still want a bunch of that finned valve cover!
Albie D Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Ohh yeah, thats a nice one! Sits right with great wheels and tires!
Chuck Most Posted January 10, 2013 Author Posted January 10, 2013 Thanks guys! That's really cool... but I can't help but think it would have looked even better with a white roof (to complement the wide whites)... Looks like you highlighted the grooves in the foiled areas somehow? Nice touch, it gives a more realistic depth to those areas. Thought of the white roof, but I didn't want it to resemble the '53 box art car too closely, you know. Weird you mention my highlighting of the grooves in the foiled areas, as I did nothing of the sort. Nice! Where'd you get the hood ornament? Love the WW, 5 spokes, and 6 shooter. That's the stock '52 hood ornament- I believe it's in the '53 kit box too even though the '53 replaced it with the scoop. Look for parts 61 and 62 on the chrome sprue.
krazyglu Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 You never cease to amaze me Chuck, how fast you turn out these model's is awesome. You can do shiny just as well as patina my friend.
