Greg Myers Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 This is a rumor I picked up from another board. The next release of the Ohio George Mr Gasket will have a , yes, wait for it, "CLEAR" body.
gtx6970 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Cool. maybe do it in a transparent blue color would be different. I have one of the clear red colored Polar lights cars. One of my favorites
MAGNUM4342 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 They couldn't pull it off for the 16th Petty Charger I doubt they'll be able to do it for the gasser.
Daddyfink Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 The 69 Malco Mustang was done with the clear body. I think they should be able to do it in 1/25. Or they can get Tamiya to do it for them!
Guest Johnny Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 They couldn't pull it off for the 16th Petty Charger I doubt they'll be able to do it for the gasser. Scale may be the factor most responsible for that failure. The smaller scale may make it more likely to work.
Jantrix Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Yeah, man but ejector marks will be murder to get rid of. Sounds like more work than its worth.
kitswapper Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 WHY... just to get more money from us..maybe next they will redo the Zingers car in clear.....LOL
walterbog Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 i think the kit your talking about is the 1969 ohio george mr gasket mustang gasser that was originally issued in clear plastic.a couple problems as far as accuracy i had with the original kit was the one piece body (no tilt front end),no rear fender flares, the front grille/spoiler needs modification. the chassis on the original kit was identical to the 1967 malco gasser mustang kit althouh the real mr gasket car had a somewhat different front suspension.the first mr gasket kit had blown 429 that george had in the car during a winter show circuit but i dont know if it was ever raced that way.it was first raced with a blown 427 sohc then later with a twin turbo 429.it will be good to see the reissue but i would not bet on any improvements to the original kit.
Don Sikora II Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Is the reissue the '69 car or the flip-front '67? On Tower Hobbies, it says that the kit is the '67...the '69 was the one that originally had a clear body.

Don...in one of the Round 2 Newsletters lase year, they hinted that the '69 version might be reissued with the clear body....TIM
mmdm4 Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Anybody have any solid info on if/when the Malco Gasser Mustang will be released? I've heard rumor of this for quite a while now but nothing solid!
Greg Myers Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 WHY... just to get more money from us..maybe next they will redo the Zingers car in clear.....LOL This would be a good kit to do a clear body for.
Danno Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 This would be a good kit to do a clear body for. I agree, Greg! That would be an awesome kit for a clear body. Here's another what-if suggestion: Kit the Dukes of Hazzard Charger in ALL clear parts ... not just the body. That way we wouldn't have to see it if someone built it!
hvymtl Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Just get some "Clear 2000" and you can watch that Dukes kit dissapear! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ that there is funny no matter who you are Michael
horsepower Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Krylon "Thick Glaze" works much better, as it takes less coats for the clear to work, I hope to use it on my Petty Charger, after all, bigger scale= thicker clear.

Dan Helferich Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 A few of these will follow me home from the hobby shop. Thanks to Round2 for correcting the front end!
Austin T Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 follow you home, eh? I know, I wish I had that problem. Instead I have to bribe them with hard earned money to come home with me.
Brett Barrow Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Won't be clear, but they are doing a white and a light blue boxing, modeler's choice...
kitswapper Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Now bring back the Dick Harrell Camaro and Charlie Allen funny car Kits...PLEASE
Greg Myers Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 Won't be clear, but they are doing a white and a light blue boxing, modeler's choice... Why, pray tell, two colors ? Why not clear ?
High octane Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Looks like another one for the "pile" of kits waiting to be built.
