Brutalform Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 This is a beautiful build of my favorite Galaxies!!! Rod, could you tell me what kit has the headers you used for this build??? I hope my build is half as nice as yours!!!
Rod Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 Thanks! The headers are from the Revell 1970 Torino GT kit.

Alan Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Sorry Rod, I get you and Dennis mixed up lol You both do killer builds ... Alan
awhitegt Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 As a former 64 Galaxie owner I have to say that this car presses all the right buttons. I hope I don't start waking up with the idea that I have to have another one!
LoudFordPypes Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Excellent build! One of my favorite Ford muscle cars
DonW Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 It's a beautiful build. One question - why does it have a scoop and then two cold air feeds from the front of the car? Where does the air from the scoop go? Sorry that's two questions! I wish I could build to that standard tho.
NHRA715 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 WOW, man, looks like you could get in it and drive away...........
Shardik Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 O.K., so when you say "full detail build" what you actually mean is "superlative example of the pinnacle of model car craftsmanship". Have I got that about right? No need to answer; the other replies have pretty much put paid to that one. I can't possibly list all the stunning details that jump out at me here, but that engine, I think, deserves special mention. Thanks for sharing this.
hvymtl Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 well i dunno if this is good or bad looking at this build at work my shirt is soaked from drool. this is too cool Michael

Cold air goes in thru the air feeds from the front of the car and the hot engine air goes out the scoop.
Geno Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Wow, wow, wow, that is one stunning build of a great car. You definitely done it justice and then some.
johnbuzzed Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Wow. I built one of the original kits back in late '64 and it didn't turn out anything like that! Seriously, that is one truly nice model- should definitely be a feature in a magazine or two. Set it up outside, take a few pictures and you'll have a lot of people wondering "It's not real?" Very, very nice.
Modelbuilder Mark Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 OK, just scanned through all the notes again, and I either missed it or it is not there, but what did you use for the interior side panesl to eliminate the dog legs? I too am doing a build similar, and while I cut up most of the interior to use, I just do NOT like the side panel detail. Is there a resin piece?

The pleats are half round styrene rods heated to bend over the top edge . The handles were removed from the AMT 1960 Starliner kit.
Danno Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Excellent! But, unfortunately, that lousy-fitting hood takes a lot away from the overall appearance.
DonW Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Cold air goes in thru the air feeds from the front of the car and the hot engine air goes out the scoop. Thanks - I always thought the air went in the scoop like the TransAm shaker scoop or some tunnel ram scoops - even though they face backwards, they pick up the slow moving high pressure air between the scoop and the windscreen. :
mcandela Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Saw this model in person and its very kool. Forgot to ask You Rod, where did You get the wheel hub caps?
peekay Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 This really is one helluva model car!!! One of the best open trunks I've ever seen, just to name one outstanding feature.
