Porscheman Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 (edited) Did you ever get one of those model you waited for so long and plan the colors and build, far in advance and everthing goes wrong? Well this is mine. It looks OK, but I had trouble with windows the ride height, hood ornament broke, you name it. Nothing to do with kit, which was excellent. It was me, old age I guess. Anyway, the paint is 2 tone green, using Tamiya's flat light grey green and flat light green with Testors Wet Look Clear top coat. Al Edited April 12, 2013 by Porscheman
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Looks really good in those colors. Interesting idea to topcoat flat colors with Testors lacquer clear.
Eshaver Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Al, for a build that went all wrong, sure looks really great to me !
Scalper Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Nice...I like how its not to shiny .. looks like its from the day. nice job.
Diesel Gypsy Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Now that is right up my ally. Absolutely love every inch of it.
Grumpa Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I don't know Al, but if you ask me, it looks like is should. Nice build!
realgone58 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I like it. I built a '51 Chevy once and used those same colors!
Sixties Sam Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Great looking Olds! The two tone finish adds a lot to the good looks. Sam
Porscheman Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 Thank you everyone for liking this one. It looks nice, but I don't think tt's one of my best. I use Tamiya's flat spray for a lot of my 50's s, the pastels are perfect for the time period and Testors clears go on smooth as glass. Al
Porscheman Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 I finally got my Modelhaus Wide Whate Walls especially made for this kit and they are beautiful and easy to install. This originally was supposed to have them installed when I got the kit, but I couldn't wait to start. Now which look better? Al
Helix Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Very nice Al, better grab myself one of these kits, they look impressive
W-Machine Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Looks great, and what a fine color combination!
