Mopar - D Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 (edited) This is a 78 Dodge Avenger LI'L Red Wagon that I changed to a base model trim except for the interior that kept the bucket seats. The 360 V8 was changed out with a 225 slant 6. I added wiring and plumbing under the hood including the brake lines. The resin bed came from eBay . Please enjoy and your comments are always appreciated. Edited March 31, 2013 by Mopar - D
Nick Winter Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I love that, even sits right, my Cousins had a '85 with the slant, it sat just like that. Nick
1930fordpickup Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Now that is a nice old Dodge. Brings back memories of a few trucks, just different colors.
Modelbuilder Mark Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Oh yeah, I am liking that a lot. In the 70s, my father owned the body shop that was attached to a Chrysler dealership.
DailyGrindCustoms Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Very nicely done! How was the bed? Good piece of resin did it require much work?
Mopar - D Posted March 30, 2013 Author Posted March 30, 2013 The resin bed was in good shape just a little sanding to smooth out the surface other wise it fit with out any modification.
hjracing Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Wow! Really nice...it bring me back very good memories...I love those body lines...
slusher Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 WOW, thats a sharp truck. l bought one of those beds to....
Rob Hall Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 (edited) Nice Adventurer. (that was the name of the trim package, not Avenger--Avenger is a modern FWD Dodge sedan). I like the color and wheel choice, the stance is perfect..pickups w/ a relatively empty bed usually sat high in back like that... I have one of those resin short beds along w/ a '79 4 headlight grille and hood, plan to do a replica of the '79 Power Wagon I learned to drive in.. Edited March 30, 2013 by Rob Hall
Mopar - D Posted March 31, 2013 Author Posted March 31, 2013 I had them in my parts box but I believe they came with the A-100 Dodge van.
realgone58 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Yes, beautiful!!! I had the twin 1:1, same color and everything, even down to the white steelies. Was a great old truck.
Mopar - D Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 Thanks for the comments this was a fun build for me making this a plan old work truck. I have a diorama of a car dealership that I'm working on and the truck will fit nice.
Sixties Sam Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Very nice truck! I like the slant six. Great finish, too! Sam
