Webb Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I'm sure a lot of ya'll have built this kit over the years. Here's a place to show em off. Mine was built as a mild street custom. Removed the chrome, door handles and side vents. Molded in the rear bumper and head lights. Re-arranged the front grille. Added Crager SS mags and Wide Oval tires and a piece of aluminum tubing for the exhaust. It has the stock Stude engine and column shift standard transmission. Paint is Duplicolor Abignon Green with turquoise pearl powder in the first clear coat. Chris
slusher Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Thats an awsume build. Love the color and wheels. That is one kit l have never built.
TheRX7Project Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I've got one in progress from a few years ago that I abandoned for whatever reason. I've built quite a few of these kits- because I used to have a real one!
Ramfins59 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Here's one that I built way back around the late 90's. It was my first really successful attempt at a custom with some actual bodywork.
Chillyb1 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I really like these cars and the kit is a delight. I happened upon it in a hobby shop while visiting my brother in Ohio not long after I started building models as an adult.
Jantrix Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 (edited) Here's my Carrera Panamericana racer. I'm still working on the livery. I should be done soon. Edited April 2, 2013 by Jantrix
TLes Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Looking very good Chris. And the rest of you guys as well. Mine is on the post "Love those Sedan Deliveries and Panels" Check it out and let me know what you think.
realgone58 Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Some nice looking Studes here. I've had a few various versions over the years, but I don't currently have one done. I may do one using a 2 door post resin body.
Tom Geiger Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 This one was finished recently and was shown on this board. Built from the Revell Miss Deal Funny Car And the AMT kit, it's been hanging out unfinished forever! It is shortened to work on the Mercedes SL chassis.
59 Impala Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Here is the first of four that I've built. First a custom that I restored. It has the Studebaker engine in it with a little more go power.
59 Impala Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 The second. This one I had to gather parts to build it. Here it is with a 348 in it from a 58 Chevy. More to come. Dan
59 Impala Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 The third one. This one also didn't have all the parts in it and I had to make the interior. I do have one more built but I don't have any pictures of it. It is an original from the 60's and I built it as Mr. Speed with the chopped top. I'll get some pics of it and post them as soon as I can. I had to rebuild the front end cause it was broken up from all the years that it has traveled to places. Dan
59 Impala Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I found a picture of the fourth one. This is before I rebuilt the front end. I didn't do anything else to it. I just left it the way I built it back in the 60's. Thanks fer lookin at my Studebaker's. Dan
slusher Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 All are excellent looking studebakers. make me want to build one...
Webb Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 I like 'em all. I new we'd get a good variety, but I gotta say the "Tude-a-baker" is the most unique. Very cool!
smellyfatdude Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Another box stock, except for the tires and side mirror.
Tom Geiger Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Since I saw the Avantis in the thread I thought I'd include my '62 Lark convertible. I used to own a '63 Lark 4 door sedan.
mr moto Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I've done two of them. Here's a stock one: And here's a custom with a Revell Parts Pak Caddy engine:
