JasonC Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) The paint went on thick, but oh well. Its Krylon Pistachio. Just box stock with a set of plug wires and BMF. Enjoy! Edited April 20, 2013 by JasonC

carrucha Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Cool Merc. I really dig the color. I plan on using the same color on one of my projects.
rmvw guy Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I love the color, beautiful job. Nice contrast with the interior and white steering wheel. The perfect Merc.
Gramps2u Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Sweet Merc Cruiser! pin stripes , the color & all is awesome.
lazlow Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 thats great. and that color is spot on for that car.
JasonC Posted April 20, 2013 Author Posted April 20, 2013 Thanks guys! I do love the color also. If i had one in real life, this is the color it would be! And yes its Krylon spray paint. Satin infact, with a rustoleum clear.
realgone58 Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Nice looking build! LOVE the color. Krylon is horrible, (I did my Willys Gasser in this color) but you sure made it look perfect.
smellyfatdude Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Sharp! That color totally suits it. If you're in the mood to experiment next time, try the satin variety of Krylon paint, if there is one in your chosen color. Then just add some clear coats. I've had good luck with that. Beautiful Merc!
slusher Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 That is a sweet build, l just bought a can of that color.
Albie D Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Must echo everyone else's thoughts, digging on that paint job. Great rattle can work.
Sixties Sam Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Great looking Merc! The color is just right, and very well done. Krylon works on models if you're careful. The clear really helps. You did a great job on this Merc! Sam

Thanks, i was thinking i made a mistake with this paint at first, but some how it turned out! Sharp! That color totally suits it. Beautiful Merc! It is Krylon Satin.
JasonC Posted April 21, 2013 Author Posted April 21, 2013 That is a sweet build, l just bought a can of that color. I wish you luck! And thanks everyone. I will say that what it was doing with me was when i sprayed the clear (Rustoleum) it acted like it would thin the base coat on parts of the car. I had to respray and lightly coat the clear then. Now i used Testers Dull coat for the int and it worked fine! Maybe it was the clear i was using?

Now i used Testers Dull coat for the int and it worked fine! Maybe it was the clear i was using? Aha, so it wasn't just me! I tried to do a ' 52 Hudson with satin Krylon Pistachio, and when I put the Rustoleum clear coat on, it cracked big time! Don't know why that color/clear reacted that way, and that was the only time that happened with Rustoleum over a Krylon satin paint. But I don't feel like so much of a clueless twit now, at any rate!
JasonC Posted April 21, 2013 Author Posted April 21, 2013 Mine didn't crack it was more like a fisheye situation. And on the floor pans underneath of the car you can see where the clear thinned the base coat on some of the details that stick up.
