Just got this one started yesterday, cut the opening in the good, hit it with metalizer, coat of gold paint, and then the candy red. I'm not sure if I'm happy with the color it looks a bit too light. Comments are welcome.

Nice paint ! Perhaps a touch light. A couple more coats of candy might get you where you want to be.

I also like that you removed the windshield wipers.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I got a few more coats on and I think it's a pretty close match. Just have to do a little wet sanding and then clear coat.

Thanks! The decals are gonna be from slixx. Today is gonna be some meticulous wet sanding, the candy came out very grainy so there's alot of work to do and at the same time I have to avoid making light spots. After that is clear coat, polish, and hopefully by tonight I could get some decals on the car and post more pics.

Was able to get a few decals on today. A little bit of a nightmare, especially the one on the front end but so far not all that bad. Also I think the door handles are gonna be a problem so I either have to cut a hole in the decal or shave the handle off without ruining the paint job.

Thanks guys, the decals were a nightmare, I don't know if they were old or dried out or what but they were extremely brittle. Some spots just kinda flaked off as I was putting them on but it's not all that noticeable. One thing I did realize was that I left the rocker panel moldings on which should have been removed, kinda late in the game now to take care of that lol. Will get more pics up soon thanks for looking ?

Looks killer so far.

ps, mental note remove door handles and rocker mldgs when I do mine . Glad you mentioned that.

Same here, I have had similar issues with several Slixx sheets lately. But all were either older sheets or sheets bought thru secondary outlets. So the last few sets I have bought directly from Slixx in hopes to avoid issues

Yea the door handles were easy to take off with a sharp exacto blade and a little micro sol helped them snug down, the moldings woulda been simple but I think I got a little over excited an it got over looked lol.

Now that looks good!!!!!!!!

I like the way the photo shows the purple reflected onto the body with metalizer to. That would be a kool paint scheme!!!!

The few pictures I have of this car show missing ft inner fenders and tube bars in there place. with a pretty radically cut up radiator support and aluminum radiator .

Thats not accurate for how this was was built originally was it ?

ps, I assume this is the revell kit correct ?

The pictures I've found are of the restored car with the tube frame front end. The decals I know are of the original version ( the hood stripes are different and the boarder around the lace patern is a little different ) I couldn't find many shots of the original so all of the interior, frame , and engine work is gonna be based off the photos of the newer version. Yes it's the revell yenko kit.
