Albert Moore
So cool having the forum back up. Here's my most recent build. This is the rather old 1/24 Lincoln Continental built as a curbside rust slammer of sorts. Actually it started off as an experiment in doing a patina finish that went fairly well so I went ahead and finished it. As far as the kit goes, it wasn't too bad, but it shows its age and was troublesome in spots. The suspension was lowered quite a bit from stock height as it looks much better in the weeds. Thanks for looking, all comments, kudos, critiques etc welcomed as always.

Ace-Garageguy
Wow...that body style is a natural for the treatment you've given it. Perfect rake and stance, very believable patina. Seriously cool.
realgone58
That's really neat. A car you usually don't see like this. Nice weathering, and I love the added "vintage" style pic!

Albert Moore
Thanks for all the kudos on my Lincoln! I debated on whether to rust the chrome, then I found a photo of a patina'ed car with a new chrome at a car show and liked the looks of it. Old and new, shiny and brown hue. Dominik
the weathering looks good! how have you made it? Real rust or paint?
Albert Moore
Thanks again, fellas! @ Dominik- I used a Rust-All wash mixed with earth tone pastels, then applied with a broad brush (or stippled for a little texture). The base coat is red oxide primer. IMO it's a bit rustier than I wanted, but all in all I am pleased, given it's my first attempt at this kind of finish. Cheers, Albert
