S. Svendsen Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Resin repop of the rare MPC '68 Coronet kit. All the build details and more pics are on my site at the link. http://www.svensworldofwheels.com/68_coronet_rt_page.html
High octane Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I LOVE that build and I just got an engine plate for one of those as I'm going to build mine curbside.
george 53 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) What a beautiful build! I have an original MPC 68 Coronet R/T that I have been offered silly prices for. You can get 3 or 4 of those NICELY cast resin kits for what one of these plastic kits is selling for. And they're JUST as nice as the original kits. You showed that what it's made from makes no difference in YOUR final result! VERY nicely done. Edited July 31, 2013 by george 53
ChevyCoupe41 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Beautiful Build!! That color fits perfectly to it and what comes to the paint job, well its perfect. Love those steelies a lot! Very Nice Job As Always!
jjsipes Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Gotta love a Mopar. Beautiful model. Wish I had that in my collection.
John Goschke Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Very crisp, authentic-looking build, beautifully photographed!
beeRS Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 That's a real nice build Sean. I love the colour too. I just followed your link to your website. What a really impressive model collection you have and great photography too. I've added it to my favourites. Keep up the good work!
johnbuzzed Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 That's one very nice looking model. Would be cool if Round 2 did reissue the kit, with the trailer. What paint did you use- the color's perfect for that car.
S. Svendsen Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 The paint is a factory matching "b5 blue" acrylic lacquer.
kelson Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Beautiful build!,i have this resin kit and the glue kit but never started them due to not having the correct paint, but a vendor in Canada now offers scalefinishes paint so looking forward to building a lot of my vintage kits.
S. Svendsen Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 From what source, may I ask? It was some left over paint from a professional 1=1 scale restoration project.
caine440 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Outstanding! I have a resin kit planned. I just hope it turns out half this nice.
W-409 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Nice work, as always. These '68 Coronets are really nice, and I'm glad to see one as a Model Car also. Excellent color choice and paint job, clean BMF work and overall really nice build. Those Body Colored Steelies with Dog Dishes really give the finishing touch for this one.
