KevinMoparFord Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Finished the 69 Silver Metallic Daytona. Red stripe looks bad in the photos, not as bad in person. Ready for the Mopar Nationals! http://public.fotki.com/Kevin60brd/69-silver-daytona/
blunc Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 looks real good to me, nice details in the engine bay.
ChevyCoupe41 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Very sharp Build! Engine details looks really nice as that paintjob too. That red stripe gives final touch to that paint job. Nice Job!
IMPALASS89 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Very nice bulid on this Daytona What color did you use for the rear spoiler to match the rear bilboard? I have a Daytona ready to paint in this color I was going to go with a white interior and rear wing but your red looks nice.Once again very nice bulid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The decal I used is from Keith Marks, and his are more red then the ones that came in the kit. I painted the wing using Model Master Insignia Red, thineed with Testor's air brush thinner and then air brushed, no clear. Sme polishing with Novus to get some dirt out. Not sure what the deal was with kit decals but I ruined 3-4 red ones, could not get them to not tear. Not sure if mine were all old or what.
crazyjim Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Not one of my favorite vehicles, but you did a marvelous job on the engine details and the paint is nice and SHINY :)
Monty Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I'm just going to agree with the other guys here. Looks like you've done some very nice work on this one, Kevin. Impressive!
drodg Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Looks great. Did you build this to replicate a real car? I was wondering why you chose wsw tires. I think they look great but the typical build would be to put red lines on it. It is a great job.

I was going to use red lines until someone posted a picture, he must have removed it but here is a link to Bob Malcom car that I used to model it from. http://www.bobmalcom.com/all%20pix/100_7677.JPG

James Moparbuilder Tester Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 I can vouch for this build. It is definitely contest worthy. Great build Kevin.
