This animosity apparently has been festering with-in and supposedly is my all my fault and was unleashed causing an argumentative situation that in my eyes is NOT repairable. So much for helping those who dont deserve it but it's done out of love a strong commitment to aid your own blood. Shameful that bridges can be burnt without any thought to the repercussions that can follow ones unfounded actions. As my Dad always said, "On the way out, don't let the door hit you in the @$$!" Crummy situation, Mike. I've been where you are, it's never fun nor easy. Most definitely the opposite. 1

Often it may be the fear of actually dying besides any basic mental issues. Unfortunately, at this point it is not uncommon for someone to be very unappreciative of everything you are doing for them. Just know you're doing the right thing as a person, but there comes a time when maybe Hospice Care may be the best answer. Dave, I think a padded room would be more like it. I can say with conviction that I will not take care for him as I did for my dad. My dad deserved my care and felt it was my duty to do so. Not this inappreciative, narcissistic, ungrateful jerk. My wife says that from the things I tell her about him it sounds like he has the on-set of dementia. At this point I could care less. Personally I can't wait till he moves out. Then I'll have peace. 3
TonyK Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Yesterday the CW channel aired a repeat college baseball game instead of the NASCAR Xfinity race. Never had that happen before.
rattle can man Posted March 12 Posted March 12 (edited) 1) how hard it is to find a simple, generic 6 pin electrical connector to replace the bad one on an old mower. The only part listed for that mower is an entire wiring harness, and they are no longer available anyway. 2) spell check/ auto correct. Edited March 12 by rattle can man 1
rattle can man Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Me. Nice day so I went out to do some spring cleaning of my shop. I found a set of connectors I could have used to repair the mower after I wasted time and money yesterday finding and buying some.

NOBLNG Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Bell/MTS!🤬 I have 3 pvr boxes and one of them recently quit working. It’s happened before and like last time I was told I need to get a newer box. No biggie…I went and swapped it out at a fairly close by B/MTS store. Well it would’nt work. Spent well over an hour on the phone with tech support switching cables and unplugging/plugging things in. They eventually agreed to (after 3 requests) to send a tech out tomorrow. Well shortly after I hung up I realized that nothing works anymore.🤯 None of my three pvrs, not my internet, not my security cams, or my wifi. I called back and they said they could have someone here by 8pm today. Well it’s 7:15 and I’m not optimistic.😡 1
NOBLNG Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I’ve been sitting here with the tv showing a blue screen for a couple hours, and after another 1/2+ hour on hold with tech, I was elevated to “level two” tech and spoke to the same woman that I spoke to this afternoon just before everything stopped working. She said there was no one scheduled to come out tonight and she shows everything as working. So I turn around and look… and the tv is booting up. She wouldn’t admit that she did anything wrong this afternoon, but I suspect she messed up the reset somehow? Everything works now except the replacement PVR, so they are supposedly sending out a serviceman tomorrow.🥴
89AKurt Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I have a string of "irk of the day" for about a month, which is why I haven't been online anywhere. We have had about 100 days of no precipitation, just when I got rolling on remodeling the backyard, it started, and we have had 3 storms so far, more expected. We desperately need the moisture, so I'm not complaining. It's just the timing is funny, more effective than simply washing the car, and/or leave the windows down. Anyway, it's all for the new (to me) car, needed a shipping container to protect it from the varmits, and the sun. Used my dad's jack to level it, had to relocate in the center which was much better anyway. The weather has also delayed the transportation of the car from Alabama, they were hunkered down in Amarillo because of a dust storm. It's gonna look like a barn find when it arrives hopefully this afternoon. Which conflicts with the antique auto club White Elephant Sale (an auction of junk to fund a steak BBQ later) which will have the capsule drawing, whoever is in attendance will win about $600. So any bets that's when the car will arrive? First World problems..... 1
NOBLNG Posted March 15 Posted March 15 (edited) So the cable guy came today. He unplugged the ethernet cable and it works fine now.🤬 Apparently the ethernet cable can only be used with a non-wireless modem. You would think that one of the 3 or 4 techs I talked to yesterday would have clued in on that? The very first guy I spoke to that told me I needed a new pvr said he prefers to use the cable rather than use it wirelessly….so I hooked it back up the same way the old one was. The second person I talked to after the new box didn’t work had me switching cables from another pvr to make sure that the cable was not faulty. Bell called me earlier this morning with an automated survey about my service experience. Needless to say they did not get a good review!😡 Edited March 15 by NOBLNG 1

Needless to say they did not get a good review!😡 Yeah, the gall that some companies have. I had issues with Verizon and my dad's land-line. Always had static and when they'd come out to "repair" the line it would either be better for a couple of days then back to the same old static. Finally after paying $60 plus bucks a month for forever, I pulled the plug and canceled their service. It wasn't but a few hours ater I received a survey on my cell wanting me to rate their service. Like you, it was more like berate their service.
stavanzer Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Finding out that the County I live in, (Kern County, California) has an Unemployment Rate of 9.0%. Up from 8.2% in January. No Wonder it's so hard to get work. County Sponsored a "Job Fest" last Wednesday, they had over 2500 people show up. You could could smell the desperation from the job seekers. I keep looking, but so far no luck...... Anybody need a 'work-from-home' Truck Dispatcher?

The lowney bridge mixture here was a staple for probably fifty years until hershey bought the company and destroyed the mix, taking the good stuff out and replacing it with their own junk. Ruined it enough that it looks like it's now gone entirely. Large lifesavers and the sweet story books are now gone as well as bugles; certs disappeared ten years ago. Small stuff, I know, in light of the major upheavals going on but still a mild irk 3
NitroMarty Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) Went to pick up some deodorant while shopping at the local Walmart store yesterday. I was shocked to find it all locked away in a case. Had to track down an associate to open the case and get it out for me. She then loaded it into a smaller locked plastic case, which the cashier had to remove it from at checkout... This is just for freaking Right Guard solid deodorant!!!! I asked why... If deodorant was a high theft item? Was told that it was because there had been numerous incidents of people opening and using the products in the store and then putting it back on the shelf... I have got to wonder, what the heck is wrong with some people???? Edited March 17 by NitroMarty Auto correct sucks 5

Many, many moons ago, I bought the biggest jar of my favorite peanut butter at the grocery store. A few days later, I opened it up to make myself a sandwich (this was before the plastic heat-shrink seals were added to the lids) and found that someone had taken a huge two-finger generated scoop from the jar, closed it back up and put it back on the shelf. (This happened in Southern California in the mid-90s) 1 3
A modeler named mike Posted March 18 Posted March 18 We've been noticing that one of local grocery stores has been putting out dated goods on the shelves such as last week, mayonnaise dated used by Jan. 2024. A box of Brownie bites marked used by Jan. 2025 and scooby snacks dated also Jan. 2025, it's now fricken March. Tonight looked at the mayonnaise again, Feb. 2025. Tonight we bought a prepackaged red skin potato salad and upon opening it up for a side dish for dinner, it looked not right. It's dated use by March 16, 2025 and today is March 17th 2025, my bad for not checking it first. Tomorrow I'll be going back to have a discussion with a manager as to why should I not report them to the health dept! Another irk from the same store was some idiot price marked some of their 8 piece Hot Fried Chicken containers 29.99 and some $9.99, how incompetent.
Falcon Ranchero Posted March 18 Posted March 18 (edited) The local Michaels is getting out of model kits, ten fold; having now put all spray paints on clearence, and there were very slim pickin's to choose from. After that I have no actual idea where to get spray paint, little testors paint capsules, kits, or supplies because there is absolutely no other crafty stores in town or North or East the highway. Probably will end up ordering new kits, but can't build if I don't have paint. I do have quite a few spary cans, but they'll run out eventually... The search continues for a paint colour for the '63 Nova wagon. Edited March 18 by Falcon Ranchero
