Inconsiderate people. Went to get groceries today. Not super hot today but still like to park in the shade. However some self absorbed idiot thought he should take up two prime spots in the shade with his pickup. Guess nobody else counts.

Second was out doing some errands and just love the people that don't kick their high beams down. Especially pickups which always kil my eyes at night.

it woukd be nice if people learned to be considerate of others and not be so self absorbed.

This irks all of us at work, my boss' in particular and even customers. We're about 4 stores away from an Enterprise Rental Agency and they have an armada of 15 passenger Chevy Express and Ford Econoline vans and are always taking up the spots in front of our store with them, then when renters drop off their's after the place closes, they park them infront of our store too! By Father's Day morning, these freaking vans took up almost a couple dozen spots directly infront of the store! The store's former owner had called the property owner's people more than once as have the new ones, most recently as of this morning and this is enough of a problem that they knew what it was without being told and automatically called place to tell them to move the danged vans! Half the mall is empty and there are plenty of places to drydock those vans where they won't block the parking of the storefronts in use, but they always park them right infront of us!

Joe, have you considered calling a tow truck, or perhaps your police department? If they're interfering with business, perhaps the other strip-mall store owners/managers can band together and file a class-action complaint with the police department.

If that happens, Enterprise will be on due notice to clean up their act, or face fines and yes, the manager could be cited for contempt of police order, which is a misdemeanor in Massachusetts, probably there, too, but it's still a criminal charge, and that will not sit with the higher-ups.

That hasn't been necessary so far, Shodeen's people (for some of the bad I've heard about them) will at least go after this place ASAP, they figured that this place was leaving their vans in front of us just by one of my bosses leaving a message with them yesterday and only called back to confirm that this was the issue before going after this neighbor. The thing that sucked about Sunday is that they are closed and there is nobody for the property people to call in the store............although I would call who ever manages that store front with the threat of calling a wrecker or three if he didn't find a way to get them moved even though the store is closed if this was my property. If it wasn't these being big vans, most of the other vehicles they rent out could probably be handled with a good tow strap and my Jeep. I am surprised he hasn't made some more effective threats to them when personally asking them to move and I'm sure he knows people who could help relocate the bigger vehicles if he wanted too ;)

Lol, I wouldn't put that past my new boss, he hasn't been shy about calling out r/c customers who are having issues with their cars that are more closely rated what they prefer to smoke than an actual mechanical or electrical issue.

First time I've driven my Jeep in a month, and I lock my keys in it even though you can't use the power locks to lock the doors if the key is in the ignition........however, you can when you lock the door from the manual interior latch................<_<

The kind of issues you're having with Enterprise would have to be dealt with via the shopping center property management people. It's a civil matter. All tenants have equal access to and right of use of the common areas, unless spelled out differently in tenant leases. A parking dispute in a private parking lot is not criminal and won't be dealt with by police . . . unless it is unlawful use of handicapped spaces.

Your store management should prevail upon the center management to get Enterprise to park their stock in designated areas, not randomly in areas that interfere with adjoining tenants. The customers returning cars? Enterprise can tell them where to park returns after hours, but if they don't, there's nothing Enterprise or other tenants can do.

But if Enterprise is causing so many problems for adjoining tenants, the property managers should straighten it out. It might be handled on another level, if the property management people don't . . . most Enterprise locations are franchised ~ just like HTU ~ so a well-placed complaint to Enterprise Corporate might straighten up an errant franchisee.

One other note ~ Yes, it sure is tempting to go moving vehicles around, whether with a tow rope or a wrecker, but DON'T. It's some level or another of theft, vehicle theft, or joy-riding depending on your jurisdiction. So reacting to Enterprise's private parking transgressions by committing a crime ~ even a minor one ~ would not be the smartest move. Kinda like reacting to a neighbor's barking dog by poisoning it. A little overkill, and the 'poisoner' ends up in jail, not the dog.

But I know you knew that, Joe.

The property management has been very good about taking care of this, I know we've made a stink a out it more than a few times just in the last 6 months and I'm kinda wondering who else in the strip mall has had this issue eith as quick as it's taken care of. Honestly, the guys from the tattoo shop from the other end of the building are better neighbors, we once had an alarm go off after we closed for the night and the former owners' daughter called them to check things out until her Mom got there, and they went in with her as protection in just case somebody had gotten in and was still in there when she went in.

Oh, and I figured out how I locked myself out of the Jeep with the key still in the ignition. The key was still in the column, but just far enough out of the ignition that it didn't trip that door lock failsafe..........luckily it happened only a couple miles from home and Dad has his own key to the truck.

Been driving the 200, the Jeep is primarily a winter driver now. I had to take it out to get the emissions check taken care of then go buy a plate sticker for it since I kinda forgot it was to be purchased by June 1st, not August first and it had to get the green light from the "Air Team" before I could renew the plates. The truck's radiator is a bit iffy for spring weather, so I wasn't sure if the truck would overheat or not while running around today. I was actually more worried about that or having an issue with buying the plate sticker the day of the test than I was it passing it's emissions test! Apparently here in Illinois, if you get your emissions tested, the info goes straight to the DMV via computer and it it doesn't, there is a barcode on the passing paperwork that the DMV worker can scan to override any related blocks that might still exist in their system as proof that the vehicle is still legal from that standpoint and can continue to be registered!

I hate the "Air Team."

I remember that thread :D

This visit went surprisingly quick considering the line and an initial estimate of a 26 minute wait (not something you want to see on a 90° day when you have a bad radiator!). I chose the line closest to the building's parking lot just in case I needed to get out of line because it was getting hot or something related to that before I made it to the building, as all I would have to do is drive across the grass to get there, plus I only ran the engine enough to move it forward in line before shutting it back off.

I haven't either, even from when they were still doing the chassis dyno tests on pre-OBD2 vehicles, other than they don't usually hire anybody who could give you an idea where to start looking for a repair. I've even had a difficult time finding cranky employees over the last nearly 20 years.

My irk of the day was a certain eBay seller. Being inspired by the Trabant Universal thread here on the board, I decided I needed one soon. I went to eBay and there was one for $22.99 plus $5.50 postage. The seller had a "Make An Offer" and the $22.99 was the "Buy It Now".. so what the heck, I sent an offer of $20. I get back, "Your offer was declined" so I send another offer of $21 which was quickly declined without any comment. Eager to see just why this guy put a "Make An Offer" on this, I send an offer of $22.00 and that is declined! So what is this guy up to? I shrug and still want it so I hit the "Buy It Now" and pay for it on Paypal. My sale is confirmed.

This morning I get an email that my sale was declined. Seller says he wasn't minding the store, and forgot to delete the listing when he sold the kit elsewhere. IDIOT! You think he would've responded to my first offer with "kit no longer available"?
